Metamorphosis bug

Dear Blizzard Dev Team,

I’d like to provide feedback on the Metamorphosis runeword, specifically the 25% Attack Speed bonus granted while in Wereform.

This bonus seems to act not like regular IAS (from gloves or gear), but rather as a multiplicative speed modifier. When tested on a Phase Blade (base speed -30), this 25% bonus boosts the attack speed so drastically that it’s comparable to having over 150 IAS on gear. This is also confirmed by community IAS calculators.

In my opinion, this bonus is too powerful and creates a major imbalance, especially for shapeshifter Druids. It allows them to hit max attack speed way too easily, even with minimal IAS gear. This devalues gear choices and creates a situation where Metamorphosis becomes a near-mandatory item.

I believe this mechanic should be:
• Reworked or reduced in power
• Or at least clarified officially, so players understand its true effect

its not a bug
its skill ias vs gear ias
it works the same way fanatasim and burst of speed work
as they also work on on skill ias rather than gear ias

I understand the difference between skill IAS (like Fanaticism or Burst of Speed) and gear IAS now. But still – don’t you think Mark of the Bear is kind of overpowered?

For example:

A Throwing Amazon using Ghost Glaive normally needs around 250% IAS to reach max speed.

But with Mark of the Bear, she can suddenly hit that same breakpoint with just ~105% IAS – that’s a huge shortcut.

It feels like this one buff is skipping massive IAS investment, especially for weapons with slow base speeds.

What do you think – is that intended balance? Or just a side effect of how skill IAS is applied?

no i absolutely dont
and no she “cant” because she cant activate it
the only class that can use metamorphosis is druid
all it really changes for druid
given the best wep for pvm is Edeath decapitator

is it lets you hit 7 frames feral and
5/3/3/3/6 fury
at lvl 31 wolf
with the 40 ias from LOH and Highlords

but if u want to talk about ACTAUL bugs

did u know feral rage tooltip is 100% incorrect?
skill levels 1 and 2 are correct
but beyond that it only gains life leech every even level

I’m not familiar with other classes potentially using Metamorphosis but technically with Beast you can get the buff without playing a Druid but seems like a total pita to un-SS and swap your weapon (or give up cta to use beast on 2nd slot)

U can use runewprd beast (wearbear) and there is a barb helm that can makes u wolf.

i’m okay with it tbqh. literally doesnt even put Shifters into B tier.

don’t you think Mark of the Bear is kind of overpowered?

i think you drastically exaggerate the end result.

Meanwhile, mosaic sins out here 1 shotting uber bosses on players 8 and causing literal real life vision damage.

is there a way to keep the mark of the bear while in wolf form? never played with it.

at first glance it looks like it would only affect bears which i wouldnt mind since there are not many of them heh

How do you have Metamorphosis equipped to get mark of the bear at the same time as Wolfhowl?

Put on wolfhowl, turn into wolf and swap helms, just like what OP was doing turning into bear with beast and then swapping to bow/jav…

Oh duh of course. For some reason I was thinking you needed to keep the skill to keep the wolf state. Beast not taking up the same slot as Metamorphosis made it less obvious of an issue in my head.

Ye but u can use mark of the bear to on assasin…the runeword can by used in evry helm
