I just have a question as I haven’t done this yet nor tried but lets say you have your Act 2 merc and all decked out and he dies. You go to resurrect him but you get click happy and click Hire and then click a new merc. Will you lose then all that gear you gave to the other merc? (Actually whether you hire a new act 2 merc or one from the act you are in).
I was always curious about this and thankfully haven’t accidentally done this yet but wondered what happened to that gear.
edit: I never did this in the original D2 either.
i dont know. i did this once and all my things on the old mercenary was gone lol. maybe you need to hire back the same one with the same name? never tried it

yeh you do make a low lvl kill blood raven and put a bow on your merc then hire a new one over the top of it and watch.

only rehire a new merc once you’ve completely removed all gear on your merc

Thanks! I have accidentally hit “hire” a few times when I wanted to resurrect and luckily enough I didn’t also accidentally click on a new merc but it got me wondering what happens if you do.
