While playing with my husband, I tried picking up Mephisto’s soulstone on nightmare difficulty. It wouldn’t let me pick it up because i had the normal difficullty Mephisto’s soulstone. That happened because it wouldn’t let me destroy it at the hellforge while on normal difficulty in act 4, because my husband broke his (and the hammer disappeared). So, just now while trying to advance in act 4, it will not let me do anything because i couldn’t grab Mephisto’s soulstone. Please help me fix this bug, so that i can keep playing. Thank you.
This is no bug.
Just drop your normal stone…you can only have one stone in your inventory. you get the stone again when you talk to cain in act 4.
Did that, dropped the stone, tried talking to cain, and went back to act 3 on nightmare. Killed mephisto and he wouldn’t drop the stone. Therefore, we couldn’t break mephisto’s stone in act 4, preventing the quest for diablo from being given to us. Hadriel wouldn’t allow us to pass because we didnt break mephisto’s stone.
