That crescendo had some good suggestions.

Your suggestion of adding flat damage to melee skills doesn’t change the fact that 90% of weapons in the game are too slow, but would make leveling through normal and nightmare maybe a bit more easier.

I’ll throw my hat in the ring: Bash should also add 1% crushing blow per skill point and synergize with stun with stun giving it 2% deadly strike per point.

Stun should have its stun duration rescaled to cap out at the max 10second duration by level 10 with a much larger AR bonus per point after that (this lines the skill up with shockwave. The fact stun gets no where near the same stun duration as shockwave as a ST skill makes no sense).

Change Stun’s bash synergy to: every point of bash increases the damage you do to stunned enemies by 4% (capped at 80% and this would act like amp or decrepify). Essentially with this synergy and enemies that have stunned applied to them with this skill, the stun would apply an amp damage effect of 80% for the duration of the stun.

Have concentrate add flat attack rating to bash and stun.

Being weapon masters, barbs should have a skill that provides a natural source of crushing blow which would also distinguish him from the other classes as the premier melee class. Additionally these changes to Bash would make it the physical-based alternative to Berserk with stun providing a huge debuff as an incentive to use a single target stun for bash and other skills.

This game does not need anymore pre buffing if anything they should work on getting rid of it entirely.

Also for the love of God, they really need to stop making RWs the bandaid fix of problems in this game. They are slowly killing D2

Except melee is so bad it needs whatever bandaid it can get. Old hustle would have brought me back. Now I’m just going to play mods.

Agree, just add lvl 9 bos to cta for maxium end gameness.

If Blizzard buff melee characters regularly all comments(prebuff is annoying, not the best way to buff melee) are right.
But right now hustle was the only hope for melee in this ladder.
Beggars can’t be choosers.

You are right, sad that the Devs don’t listen…

Honestly what they could do is make the fanaticism a +1 oskill so you can buff it with +skills. That means a midgame player could get away with getting fanat to like +5 with average gear or +10 with endgame gear (but there would be better options at that point like faith).

I’m not opposed to this.

Makes it more accessible than just a lvl 1 fanat (which honestly is really bad lets be real) with an aura range that expands as you gear but not to the point where it would outclass any other sources of fanaticism (except it would probably make it the choice weapon over beast for summon necros but lets be real nobody is going to complain that necros with endgame gear can squeeze out 1 more fanat level than beast).

Faith would still have the higher fanat levels. Beast will still be the better weapon to use over hustle if you really wanted fanat on your melee set and in fact allows barbs to transition into a X/beast combo more smoothly.

It would become less useful for mercs, but the devs never intended for it to be a merc weapon in the first place.

Most melee classes have sht for plus skills so a +1 to fanaticism weapon would really only benefit summon necros. With end game gear it would be easy to hit a lvl 14 fanat. Idgaf either way but “theyre about intended use” all of a sudden.

Having aura on right mouse button while you single target attack with the left would be annoying. Yeah quick cast exists i know.

If they want the weapon melee only, make the buffs melee only. Scaling max damage and crushing blow would have been fine. Plus to penetrate and crit strike as an oskill is also an option. Maybe even the much coveted amp damage on strike?

Hustle wasn’t a melee fix any more than Mosaic is an MA sin fix. This is now how to develop for D2.

I’m just scraping the barrel at this point. A level 1 fanaticism aura is just dogwater and an insult to melee

Most of the streamers said the whirlwind change was “good” because they didn’t even think to test 2handed weapons because they think that the meta is all that matters (grief).
