Mana Shield and Resists

Are Resistances only taken into account once Mana Shield is depleted and you take damage to health?

Energy shield does not absorb all of the damage that you receive. For example, with level 7 Energy Shield (50% damage absorption) a fire bolt dealing 100 fire damage will apply 50 damage to your mana (before Telekinesis calculations are done); the remaining 50 damage will be dealt to Life, subject to fire resistance.

Well it depends. Your energy shield cannot go above 95% even fully maxed with all skills so unless you use magic damage reduced by items or items with absorb something will go through always.

But yes resistances are calculated after the energy shield, they dont matter for dmg going to energy shield. But since your mana shield can be taken out by mana burn monsters or by massive voley of elemental attacks its still usefull to have decent resistances usualy.

ES kinda more to it.

Rez doesnt applay at all for ES dmg.
Furthmore without tele synnergy:
1 mana per 2 dmg
at 20 hardpoints tele that becomes:
1 mana per 0.75 damage

(but dont forget, 0 resists, so its not as good as it looks but helps)

So ES very bad untill u max tele.
Prebuff with memory kinda cheap.
I Only roll Hybrid tho on my chantress since i max warmth.
And can afford the extra SP into ES and Tele.

For PvE basically all other builds are so SP starved that ES simply doenst make any sense to use.

+Skills fcr mf pump vit is the religion of meta sorcs.
That is all the sorc channel on that discord has to offer basically ngl.
