Make gems / runes stackable please

make gems / runes stackable please.
full tabs of individual gems / runes is miserable.
yall did it for d4 and everyone very happy with it. do the same for d2

But that would mean that RMT shops could store their runes on fewer accounts, which would mean less revenue for Blizzard to keep the servers alive due to them not buying accounts for item storage.

Then there’s always the risk of an unknown dupe method being able to duplicate a stack of runes.

Probably not going to happen.

:o

Now, a dedicated shared stash tab, or “rune/gem bag” that stores say, up to 200 gems and 200 runes would be nice. Under the hood they’d store like they do now in cells, but the user interface could show them stacking. I would give up a shared tab for this. Buuuuut that’d be too much work for Blizzard to do for no-money-making D2:R.

i understand where you’re coming from. they have many issues to tackle. and i think your main concern is bots / dupes. and i totally agree thats an issue too.
i just hope we dont sacrifice quality of life changes because of bots; just tackle the bot / dupe issue concurrently.

hopefully somebody is reading all these suggestions and implementing all of them.
fingers crossed

Blizzard is a publicly traded company, they like money, and they don’t like red ink. D2:R doesn’t make a substantial amount of money just like the original game, and they’re both in the same boat… Blizzard is largely deaf and blind to the players of the games. Minimal life support mode just to keep the game running. It’s probably for the best, because if they were to bring more changes, the current developer crew would just further D3/D4ify the game.

Blizzard wants the old grizzled Diablo 2 players to get bored of the nostalgia trip, open their wallets and move on. If not, they can keep replaying the same game as they have been for the past quarter century over and over and over and over and over and over again.

I wish I could see that first statement as ironic, but it’s as likely to be completely true. I agree, the game needs a massive shared stash to remove the need to have 10+ mule alts. I think stacking any crafting material is beyond the scope of the game, or at least beyond the scope of what Blizzard will bother to code.

Don’t listen to the doomsayer rejecting every improvements in the premise of the Bot boogeymen

The saddest part is that Stacking is super easy to implement

Takes literally 15min to make all ingredients stackable
And such method is foulproof. So no duping or bugs

The fact that I am good at managing runes and gems as they are makes me a better player than you. So no. I like being better than you. Id rather keep it that way, thanks.

What you wrote is not wrong. Maybe they could allow you to stock 99/100 runes/gems that way, but having them infinite would be a detriment in my opinion too.
it’s also true though that the way it is now the chest is not comfortable, you need to make a lot of mules and with the limit of characters I for example no longer have room to start a new one, in ladder for example.

I’d say even something “as simple” as stacking them up to the amount required to upgrade them to the next tier (3 for non-perfect gems and low/mid runes, 2 for high runes, 3 for 2-slot keys) would already be a massive improvement. It allows stacking for upgrades all rune types with 33 slots, and divides by 2 or 3 the amount of space required for gems and runes kept for other recipes.

I’d say stacks of 10 or 20 would be the ideal compromise between making stacking extremely efficient for regular players (that allows you to keep a little bit of every type of gem, rune, 2-slot key, essence, token, and monster body part in a single tab : 82 slots, and still keep large amounts of some of them within that same tab), while not making it trivial for people that are hoarding stuff from multiple automated accounts or playing the trading game rather than actually looking for stuff themselves.

I’ll add that whether it’s through stacking in a dedicated tab, stacking in normal stash tabs, or stacking in inventory too, any solution that the devs actually implement is better than a theoretically more efficient solution that the devs don’t actually implement.

Finally, I really don’t understand why the devs don’t massively increase the available number of stash tabs in offline. I can see my shared stash file is barely a couple of kilobytes, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to multiply stash size by a hundred times. If there are loading times worries, just add 10 private stash tabs to each character, that way characters can keep everything they need in their own tabs, and very few mules are required.

Nah for stacking runes

Cuz it’s still takes a lot of space and undesirable runes stay undesirable

The best way is combining and freely decombining

This provides a space required equal or lower than stacking but also provides value to all runes

agree

We’ve already been through this.
Noobish idea.
Evidence you don’t actually play the game.
