Make D2R even better!

My thoughts are… why make a Diablo 4 when you can just focus on what the fans want. I personally love Diablo 2 remastered and places it on a higher tier than Diablo 3 in my opinion. It is more challenging, nothing comes easy and the graphics are definitely up to par! You actually have to work to get what you have. I will always be a huge fan of D2, but increasing the viability of other classes would just make this game ascend!

  • Show us more viable fire builds. (Since 50% of hell mode creatures are immune.)
  • Make assassins have more than just a trap build to be on top.
  • Make druids summoner tree on par with necros.
  • Make other mercenaries more usable, not just the act 2 ones.

There are many other things people would like to see of course, but my only real criticism is that you kind of have to go towards one path to be superior in the late game. Not a whole lot of versatility.

With the limitations placed on the original engine, it’s hard to do what I’d really like to see: More character experience past the original hardcoded 4.29B (2^32-1). Wishful thinking here, but can that barrier be crossed? It is a longshot question, but I’m compelled to ask it. The other thing would be a way to undo the gold limitation of 2.145B (2^31-1). These are the original engine limits that were in place when the game was first made. My thinking is: Barriers are made to be broken, so if this can be done: great. If not, well, no harm in asking (or trying, if possible.

However, there are many other areas that are begging for updates. Builds are one area in the gameplay sector. There are many graphical advances that can be utilized now after a 15-20 year break, for example. There are yet other aspects of the game that can be utilized now that there are ways to use them:

Monster sprites that were unused in the original game can be officially used now if we ask for them.
Certain skills that were left on the cutting room floor can be used now with a few tweaks.

There’s more, but those are the two off the top of my head.

I don’t know if that barrier can be crossed, but everything could be scaled in a way that keeps the same time/kill requirements to get to 99, and then make it increasingly difficult to go higher. Though, 99 is already such a pain in the butt that I’m not sure what the point would be.

i see where you are going with this, but I believe this would actually be changing actual mechanics of the game. I am particularly just looking at synergies and such that would be able to be changed or added to make other builds viable without changing the game, if that makes sense at all. I want to keep original aspects of them game.

They need to create one standard server for that “where game updates are released”. And keep a classic server “original game core no changes”. It would be nice although.

And people were complaining that Cold Mastery bug that buffed one of best builds got fixed while fire builds are having even worse time in Hell.

you say you dont want the main mechanics changed than go on a rant stating exactly how you want them changed

you dont choose whats the core of the game… just stop saying you dont want to change the core and just say.

i want this changed due to my opinion only.
i dont want this changed due to my opinion only

I do not think I ranted about anything. I just mentioned suggestions. If you technically want to just maintain the “core” of the game then this would go back prior to updates and the introduction of synergies, which was a massive over haul. But even with that massive change to the game, diablo 2 was still diablo 2.

And I believe that a majority of the players in the fan base would like to see more variability in builds.

-Precisely for this reason.
Since when does the community know what makes a good game?
In addition, opinions on this are far too different.
-Because this is a finished game?

Your ideas above are not that bad, but once Blitz has started to change things, they don’t stop until the game turns into a pile of ****

No thx. They should focus on d4

They have already made some changes to a “finished game” that they just remastered. I do not see anything wrong about putting some balancing changes in it. I do see a lot of people not wanting to touch it and a lot of people wanting some balance.

No ones opinion is really in the wrong here. We have seen it in some blizzard games where the finished product was excellent, then other blizzard games that were improved due to community feed back, and then (like you said) messed up due to changes from community feed back. Things can always be reversed.

I know the trap assassin is vert popular but martial arts assassin can tackle every content on the game ignoring immunities with a very fun playstyle.

It might not be as OP as trap but a very fun way to play the game nontheless.

Oh i agree, playing off builds can be fun for sure. Right now I am experimenting with a hybrid druid/build. It is fun, but not nearly as effective.
