Make Bears Great Again! Petition to revert bear changes

Please for the love of Diablo revert the stupid werebear changes. This build has been completely destroyed by the slow attack speed. No bears are found anywhere. Beast runeword almost useless now unless barb.

Post a reply in support of fixing the biggest build killer from all the patches. Make werebear great again !!!

The beast rune word is mainly used by Summoner Necros or Druids to give their minions the final damage aura^^

But yes, the druid is generally a bit thin and has a few weak points. It is played very little. But I also see very few caster necros. It also lacks a bit more damage, but that would be easy to fix. Because magic damage could be increased relatively easily with RW and items. Of course, the Necro has his Corpse Explosion as the only really good weapon. But it’s just more cumbersome and not always easy to do than simply bombing everything away with a Sorc, Javazon or Mosaic Assa.

No, there were many wearbears before the IAS changes…Fireclaw bear in particular used to be a wonderful build that would be absolutely amazing if that old build could be paired with a fire sunder, would have been a very unstoppable single target p8 build…high life, max block, 5 fpa (nearly as fast as zeal), dracs for LT, minions and huge fire damage…now it is complete trash with very unsatisfactory fpa…

Werebear got screwed but so too did 2-H WW Barbs(imo). I would make a Werebear if they ever opted to revert the Shockwave “bug” to where that Physical Stun spell was actually viable provided you had the means to bypass Physical Immunity. When played with a Reaper Toll/Lawbringer Merc or with a Necromancer casting Amp, Shockwave would deal some pretty nifty Physical Damage.

I haven’t toyed around with Sanctuary aura though as to whether that applies to Physical Spell damage. If Sanctuary were to ever get the Holy Bolt treatment(which I’m honestly on the fence given it’d trivialize a huge chunk of the game), it would also make Wind Druid, Singer Barb and Shockwave Druid much stronger.

To prove my point regarding Sanctuary, here’s what would be left with respect to Physical Immunity if Sanctuary applied to Demons(and Undead). Broke it down by Act they first appear in.

Act 1: Stone Skin Wendigo’s(and all derivations), Stone Skin Giant Spiders(and all derivations)
Act 2 Swarm(and all derivations) and Stone Skin Baboon Demon(specifically Temple Guard variant that’s found in Act 3 Temples) and Stone Skin Maggots.
Act 3: Nothing Physical Immune(save for Swarm variants or Stone Skin Temple Guards)
Act 4: Nothing Physical Immune(save for Stone Skin Maggots)
Act 5: Death Berserker(Death Mauler variant), Stone Skin Siege Beasts(all derivations)

Everything else is either Undead, Demon or can never be Physical Immune. That’s the impact that adding Demon to Sanctuary Aura would have and why I’d be reluctant to add it because stripping Monster Resistance is insanely strong. It’d even apply to Act Bosses given that they’re Demons…

I wish Shapeshifter was good from level 1. Maybe some proper Rabies rework with shorter poison duration. Anything for a change of this caster meta.

can you explain the change that was made, in detail?

WW barbs got a huge buff being able to get attack speed from all item slots and skills. The fact that a couple top tier setups became a bit worse is outshined by the fact that so many lower tier items became usable and good.

Yes, the changes to werebear were downright stupid… it goes to show the devs had absolutely no clue what they were doing. it would have been reverted by now if the game were not in maintenance mode… now I doubt they will ever change it again.

2-H can no longer hit 4-Frames. They’re capped at 5 Frames whereas dual-wield(including 2-H Swords) and Sword/Board can hit the old 4-frame breakpoint. That is, by definition, an APS nerf. What’s more, dual-wield has access to Frenzy or more Skill IAS that 2-H cannot use to mitigate the effects of Decrepify since Fanaticism isn’t enough to mitigate it.

Now if we had Cannot Be Cursed at our disposal, then the biggest source of Slow in the game is completely nullified. In which case, my argument falls largely flat since all you need is Fanaticism. There’s still Holy Freeze but that’s limited to a few select opponents.
