It’s more rewarding and challenging to do your own thing in D2. I’ve played Diablo since the 1990’s as a kid. I’ve seen everything I think? But every now and then someone comes along and blows my mind.
This game is a cornucopia of character designs that work. Just make them and ignore cheesy guides and builds if you are bored or frustrated…

most people i see are using guides that are cookie cutters pulled from icy veins or maxroll. either that, or they’re stupid expensive meme builds based on ultra rare gear they saw extolled in streamer videos like that llama dude. if your build relies on an inventory of stacked charms to get to +20 skills, what’s the point? ANY build would perform well with +20 to all skills
Even though there are many different builds, some of them require ungodly expensive runewords. So you can’t really blame people for playing blizzard sorceress.
When GoT was at it’s height i thought it would be fun to make an ice & fire build. I built an Ice rw bowzon and paired it with an a5 merc equipped with phoenix rw sword and dragon rw armor. It was so much fun to play, even though it didn’t just truck over hell unchallenged. Downside is it took quite a few hr’s and was only feasible mid-late ladder.
so have you done zeal/enchant sorc, kicksin, fireclaw druid (my fav), fire trap sin, ghostsin, werebear barb or pally, plague druid, poison dagger nec, hybrid zon, ice bowazon, poison javazon, mage pally, auradin, widowmaker sorc or barb…lots of other obscure & fun builds out there…
How about get an up’d Kuko a razor tail and make a Bowadin!

love doing off meta build and off brand ideas.
Skirmisher: Summoner druid that doesnt put points into oak or HoW in order to max out lycan/werewolf so you can be one with the pack.
Inflitrator: Assassin that runs venom and crushing blow using bows. Merc and Shadow Master teammates. Cloak everything, hit Burst, FIRE!
Coercer: Necro with max Confuse and Attract. Let these idiot hellspawns kill each other. They enjoy it. Throw in some revives and CE, its mosh pit time.
Orb/Chain Sorc cause no one does that.
Vengence Pallies. If only this worked with a bow!
Zon and Barb dont have a ton of fun time build potential.
Well good thing is you can see who kills you before you die.
Make a maxed Fire Golem to go with build and wear Dragon gear
