[Main Thread] - Can not create or join games - "character is already in a game"

ive been trying to log on every 30 minutes for now 9 hours, i am loosing it completely.

i swear to god the team working on this is the most useless team working for blizzard.

boss: Guys, should we restart the servers?

devs: nah boss, we’ll just fix one guy at the time, there’s a couple of thousands but we got this boss!

Cross posting this from the bug report forums.

"Failed to enter game, this character is already in a game on the server"

Hello again everyone,

Just wanted to get everybody an update on the situation. The process to unstick characters is still getting run periodically. We’re currently investigating situations where players have been locked for an extended period of time and the system still hasn’t caught them yet.

If you are reporting this issue in the thread, please let us know what time and time zone your character was locked out of the game. If you’re not 100% sure, a guess is fine. If you were recently locked out you should be caught in a future unlock wave, but anybody who’s been stuck in game since before 6 AM Pacific Time, please post here and let us know so we can figure out what’s going on.

Same issue here, logged out of a friends game and was going back to mine.

Says I’m in game and wont let me play any other character.

Can you post the timing/schedule of when the Future Unlock waves will be. This will help people know at least how frequently they can check bnet to see if they are unlocked.

I can’t even log into the game at all. It just says “cannot connect to server” when I click the online tab in the top right corner of the main menu. I was able to play last night around 2am Eastern. Went to bed. It’s now 1:30pm and can’t connect at all.
