I have been trying to farm for an Enigma for quite some time, months to be exact. I found a Sur rune today, and I finally cave in and trade for my missing piece, the Jah rune.
I make my enigma, love it very much!
However, after all this time… then caving in, my first run I find a Vex rune. about 5 more runs in, I find a Jah rune! Another 5 or so runs and another Sur rune drops.
So I traded for the Jah earlier (with an existing Ber), but in total I drop 2x Sur, Vex, and my own Jah. I essentially found enigma today + Vex.
Really just wanted to share what a crazy night of drops for me. I think this goes down as the very best RNG I have ever had in this game in a single play.

Luck streaks do happen, although they are normally long and likely overlapping streaks of bad luck.

I found a cham and a gul within half an hour of each other a few days ago , the first high runes ive ever found in twenty years of casual play.
Dosen’t seem to be much i can make out of them though.
Gul is pretty good. Only need like a Vex or Lo to make some of the better runewords. Like Grief, Heart of Oak, Death to name a few.
Just saying getting that Gul is a plus. But yeah, you need another rune to make some of the good runewords. I’m pullin’ for ya to get what you need. Given enough time and some targetted farming, you’ll get something to go with that Gul and feel the game change drastically in terms of difficulty and speed of farming.

I am still reeling about this. Like seriously, what are these odds?
In 22 years, I’ve NEVER found a Jah rune. However, within 20 runs and roughly an hour of playtime:

Find a Jah rune within minutes of making my first Enigma
-
Find a Sur rune minutes before that
-
Find a Vex rune on first run after making Enigma
-
Find another Sur rune a handful of runs later
I essentially made my first enigma, and by TOTAL chance found all the runes necessary to make another one within ONE hour. I seriously can’t believe this.
Just considering I’ve never found a Jah in 22 years… all of this together is absolutely insane. Like, I’ve experienced RNG, found lots of HRs, found 2 in a day before, but nothing even remotely like this. Just the sheer chances of any HR dropping is wildly low, and I found 4. Also a Lem… but not worth calling out.
Another fun fact, in 22 years never found a SoJ. Hopefully this manifests now… or do I need to buy one on the forums for it to drop in game?

There could be two explanations for this, either in patch 1.13 or 1.14 they upped the chances of getting high runes. It wasn’t much but it was a buff to high rune drops. Then in patch 2.4, they buffed some builds with new runewords or buffs to skills.
These two things together, faster farming because your build was buffed, and a higher chance of getting high runes, if the last time you played was before 1.14, could mean that you see the changes of 1.14 more frequently.
Just a guess.

No, I feel you. I played prior to 1.13 (somewhere online prior to 1.07 and back in classic) and felt the rune drop increase. Also, I’ve been grinding out as much as I can since D2:R launch, and I’ve been recently logging my rune drops. It’s pretty consistent, and I’ve had some pretty good dry spells.
One thing for sure, is I am totally not complaining. I’m also not trying to say much other than how super crazy are these odds??? I still can’t even… I think the last HR I found was checks google sheets was a Lo rune roughly ~450 runs ago. The thing getting me most is I’ve been joking with my brother about this elusive Jah rune, he finds 3 in a week and I’ve never found 1 in 22 years. Then make the armor, and it drops, along with 3 other HRs in a short session.
I really wish this RNG would have played out via lottery, but either way, this is very much appreciated. 
Seems I can have a little more character variety/flexibility!
