love playing the game, but having to play through windows bootcamp is a bit extensive
this post is really for blizzard to see, i hope you can work with another company (or self) to port the game to macOS, there definitely is an audience for it. it’d be tight
Back then Apple didn’t tryed to rip off everyone, includeing game devs. If Apple fans want to play on their overpriced Apple product, first they should knock on Apple’s door.
There is no incentive for Blizzard to port it to macs…
1: Compared to Windows PCs, a very small number of people use Macs. Of those people, an even smaller group are interested in playing Diablo II: Resurrected.
2: I’m sure Blizzard doesn’t want to jump over the hurdles that Apple has lined up just to port the game or pay their Apple store fees, just to support the few handful of people that would play the game on a Mac.
Simply put: Blizzard would lose a lot of money bringing the game to Macs. Which for any business losing money is not a financially smart move.
yiiikes that hurts. yea macs are def more expensive… but your getting what you pay for and thats a quality experience imo. annoying when people complain about the price of apple; if you cant afford it then pipe it hah
anyways, im so used to bootcamp at this point that i dont even mind anymore
Macs are a nightmare to develop for. Initial dev is fine, but it’s always a moving target where they change this sub-system or that and then remove compatibility for the old, and then recently shifting to their own in-house chips. Companies are on the hook for having to keep updating the software to match these constantly changing specs which often takes a very non-trivial amount of work. App devs often charge customers for these Mac compatibility updates which they have to keep putting out in perpetuity.
Frankly, no one should bother writing anything for Mac.
Very mature.
I drive a 911 Porsche and have 10 Mac’s, 0 windows, and 2 Linux machines. Mac users have more money and would pay for Mac release. If I were Blizzard I wouldn’t ignore 30% of US users.
I would say that you drive a low end pickup, probably 12 years old.
My 3rd vehicle is a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4WD with 253k miles on it. It’s great for picking up furniture, appliances, lumber, hauling things off. Runs great and gets great gas mileage. I have 2 other cars, all paid off. And a house.
Smart enough for all of that debt free and definitely smart enough to not use a mac, especially for gaming.
Still waiting for Biden to pay off your student loans using my taxes??? Mine are paid off, I am not lazy.
Macs were always intended and used for graphic design, not gaming. Harder to program for and more, it’s why they are more costly. Apple has the market on things like phones and watches and such, they will never have the market for PC’s.
