I keep seeing speed runs but I have yet to come across someone attempting to beat the game at the lowest possible level(I am sure it exists). So I come forth seeking answers.
What’s the lowest level one can manage to complete normal with grabbing every wp and quest along the way? I suppose the issue will end up being Ancients as they are the gatekeepers to the Worldstone Chamber and now have a minimal level requirement.
How about if we were to divide the challenge into two pieces? How low can one get to Act 5 and how Low can one Get to killing Baal?

Anyway, I think you did answer your question yourself, the ancients have a minimal level requirement, I will guess 21-41-61 to kill Baal, if you drag Baal minions enough far away from Baal without killing them.
But for the walk-through, I don’t know, I feel Duriel will be the hardest challenge to see what minimum level can complete act 2. I will be curious to see a minimum level boss kill single player runs - Andariel - Duriel - Mephisto - Diablo
Considering you have to be at minimum level 60 in order for this to happen I don’t think lowest level is really a thing. I could easily see a decked out level 60 handling Baal and his minions, not impressive. The fastest in terms of time to complete hell Baal is more legit.
He’s actually not even close, especially when he says that “beat the game, in context, means to do physical damage to it”.
To answer the question, it depends on a lot of factors. Solo, you must be level 20 to complete Ancients, which will level you to 21, which will allow you to run down to Baal and, as said, possibly kite the minions away to get access to the worldstone chamber and kill Baal.
If you allow for outside assistance you can do a number of things. Having a second player in-game getting quest completions will allow you to get the same completions, which in turn will allow you to effectively skip the level requirement for Ancients.
This is how you get level 1 mules all the way in Hell.
What’s the lowest level a character could make all the requisite kills by themselves (using assistance only to bypass level restrictions)? Who knows. Probably pretty darn low.
Right, I sorta meant randy got close to being correct, which for him, is way better than we’ve come to expect. Both of those replies are only true for the expansion.
Classic does not have act 5. No act 5 means ancients don’t exist, since ancients don’t exist there, that means there is no minimal requirement to go to the next difficulty. No minimal requirement to go to the next level, means the game 100% can be finished/completed at level 1.
Oh yeah, trying say no one plays classic isn’t a valid argument due to the OP never asked his question about any specific mode of play.
Gotta love how the first reply made it a point to directly attack me with a false statement.
Because the OP referenced Ancients and World Stone Keep in his question, so he was obviously talking about LoD.
But like with everything else, you have to find some way to create a straw-man so you can get off on telling everyone that they are wrong and you are right.
Depends on what you consider completion I suppose. Normal story, Nightmare story, Hell story or Hell + Ubers? Is there a specific category you have in mind?
As you said, Ancients make it level 21 in LOD. Classic would be difficult to say. Technically, the only required kills are Andarial, Duriel, the council that has the flail, Meph, seal bosses, and Diablo. Problem is of course, getting those kills. Your best shot would probably be static. So, I would say probably level 6 if you had infinite patience to continuously die and get tiny bits of more damage off until you got the kills.
