Low Resolution problem 1024x768

I run my desktop in 1024x768, it runs the best since i have a tv not a computer monitor runs at 60+ fps as with other resolutions flicker or puts ALOT of strain on my eyes immediately not to mention most of them arent even fitting my screen is smooshed or stretched too far for some reason so i just prefer 1024x768. Running D2R i cannot see the right side of the screen cannot create a character, i googled how to switch to legacy but i guess theres no legacy title screen?
strange how the game itself i cannot even change a resolution other than in window mode but i can only change to a higher can see even less resolution, also the resolution scale slider does nothing to change the size of the resolution. How do i get the game itself to change its own resolution on my screen kinda like how diablo 2 original does when running it? or any other help to be able to see the entire screen

did you work out how to fix this? I can’t create a character as the right side of the screen.

No thanks to blizzard, make sure you got the latest “recommended” drivers for your video card. right click on your desktop go to your video card settings from there if you have an ati go to the ati control panel if you have nvidia go to the nvidia control panel navigate through that crappy menu. for me it was the ati menu and on the top right corner click the gear icon go to display and enable “virtual super resolution” it allows the pc to resize your screen automatically for you its not 100% perfect for all resolutions however there is a hdmi scaling slider that shrank the pixels to fit the resolution, diablo was a bit smushed so i changed it to native resolution then shrank it a bit and it fits now yay.

on a side note i also have gpu scaling enabled, scaling mode = preserve aspect ratio, integer scaling = off, hdmi link assurance = enabled i think this is tied to the hdmi scaling slider, also when i change the resolution i scroll down a bit click on advanced settings scroll down and change the refresh rate to at last 60 hz if not 70 if its available but you do want at least 60hz to keep you from getting headaches after prolonged periods of use. also be aware that changing the refresh rate also changes the size and flicker as well as the contrast/brightness for some reason.

I had the same problem in beta, looks like they are too incompetent to scale UI to resolution. They did it in WoW but too lazy to do it in Diablo2. Using resolution scaling is ugly and forces my monitor into lower refresh rates. There’s no solution for me as I can only use CRT monitors. This game is dead to me. Good thing I ran the beta and saw the problem early.
