Do whatever you want for early ladder. Stick to what you know.
After that most everyone might want to try out traps now that they could be really good. Beyond that sunder charms make a lot more classes versatile, but that versatility doesn’t make them good. Pick a class that is A tier or better that you find interesting it isn’t like you can go wrong anymore.

Melee sorc with passion/zeal
Sorcerer with pyromancy.
Enchant sorc with a Demon Machine - indirectly buffed by fixing a bug with Enchant damage applied to ranged weapons.
