Looking for a refund?

"We will not be providing a refund for this product, as it has already been used. Refunds are not guaranteed for any purchase made on the Battle.net shop. Reopening this ticket will not change that fact, nor will it change the fact that any deleted characters cannot be restored for any reason.

I understand this wasn’t the response you were hoping to receive today, however I thank you for understanding and wish you a wonderful day going forward"

Lost my geared sorc 4 days ago on Blizzard behalf. Been going back and forth with them. Blizzard won’t help us D2R community. This feels like warcraft reforged all over again. Goodluck to the people seeking a refund.

You may have a choice. Please, do contact your financial institution. They will listen to your experiences with Blizzard and they may offer to refund your purchase. Even if it is software, you may have consumer rights which you may have not been aware of.

Just a heads-up on some people claiming that Blizzard may disable access to their other titles if you have them associated with the account that you have D2:R on. That would be a terrible business model if Blizzard’s peeps did that. As you are only respectfully seeking a refund on a single product and for reasons which are reasonable.

Please, if you do receive a refund, do share the story with us as it will be helpful when we all make our requests with the financial institutions that we used for making this purchase. Thanks and good luck!

A few things on that, what you are suggesting is considered fraud. I get what you are talking about, but it is actually fraud.

  1. The purchase was authorized by the buyer.
  2. The buyer knew all Digital Purchases were final as per the store terms
  3. The software or service was provided to the buyer - as described in the EULA terms, is it not guaranteed to be free of defects, bugs, or down time.
  4. Blizzard is continuing to fix the game (I am upset about the rollbacks too, but yeah, they are working on it).
  5. No diablo game has ever had character or item restorations. They literally can’t. There are no log files showing what happened to items.
  6. As evidenced by play time, the game was usable, and will continue to be usable in the future as Blizzard works on it.

If you authorize it, buy it, get it, play it, and don’t like it - that is not grounds for a refund. You do that, and Blizz can and will lock accounts until the money is returned to Blizzard.

Blizzard makes exceptions to the no refund policy if the game has not been played, it is a pre-purchase, or someone mis clicks/kid clicks and they very quickly request it be refunded without being played.

No disrespect as MVPs can be helpful when a Blizzard client needs something small to be sorted out. From what I can best understand, you have not provided a reasonable means for clients of Blizzard to acquire a refund. All you have done, and to put it clearly, is say that a Blizzard client is SOL. I think that is unfair.

Clients of Blizzard do have choices. Thank goodness that our online transactions are protected by one or more financial institutions. If Blizzard employees choose to respond to their client’s understandably reasonable choices in a harsh manner, e.g., locking them out from their other titles, then that is a harmful and terrible business model.

Thank goodness clients of Blizzard do have choices.

I have since day one and you can find my posts with refund links if you search my post history.

In this case, I also have to be honest. If someone has been playing then they won’t be granted a refund exception.

It is what happens when you fraudulently request a chargeback on something you authorize a purchase for, were granted, used, and will continue to be able to use.

Blizzard could take legal action, or the credit card company could, but if it is a small amount they usually don’t. The vendor just restricts you until you pay back the money and the bank may not grant chargebacks in the future.

You also have to remember, that lost char or item is Blizzard’s property, not ours. They have the rights to remove anything at any time - although doing so would be colossally stupid so generally they don’t. BUT they can.

You do know that accusing a Blizzard client of fraud does not help. I hope that you can provide a means which can help not just me, but the reasonably large number of Blizzard clients with their refunds. That would be a noble and compassionate act. D2:R has been, for some, a terrible experience. I do not hold you nor even the peeps who comment in blue text responsible.

Blizzard clients do have choices when they are exchanging money online or offline for a product of any sort.
