I just looked into it and I have to say, while it is not for everyone I think it is far better than I thought and personally, I feel the D2 community is a bit too harsh about it.

It will never give me the “slot machine” feeling, what I love about D2R, what I am playing it for but it has its own thing, it is a completely different game. And in that respect, I think it is fantastic. I love the atmosphere, the music, the cinematics, the campaign and the entire story is captivating and it comes with great graphics. The only thing I don’t like about it is the it is online only, far too complex, lots of new things, buzzwords to learn and all that.

I don’t.
D2 fans didn’t get the remaster they deserved and were used as a cash grab for d4.

Sure, understand.

Forgive my ignorance but D2R was a remaster, wasn’t it? And it is 10/10 in my opinion. Putting it into maintenance mode only (like no new runewords, fixes, changes, etc) in favour of D4 recently is not ok though.

The monetisation, marketing, hype, etc is not something I liked and I do agree with the cash grab thing you are talking about. But… what makes anyone think that their target audience was/is the existing D2 community or, let’s say longtime players? It is unfortunately at the end of the day a business, not a charity. If they feel like to abandon existing users and target new, casual, whatever players then they can and will, whatever makes the buck.

Maybe I am easier on D4 because I compare it to D3, what I could not play more than 1 hour, I have not touched it ever since. I hated everything about it.

I don’t but it’s definitely an eye opener for myself and other fans to finaly make a descision about continuing purchases.

It is isn’t it? Well, goodbye ‘microsoft’ or whatever the title is now…

Hey, are you still playing? I couldn’t find your server by name

Far from a 10 out of 10 experience, that is the truth.

You missed the point:

  • I was purely talking about the quality of the remaster, not experience
  • I was sharing my own opinion, never said it is the truth

I have my own opinion and you have yours, they can be totally different and it is all good like that. But neither of our experience is the truth, only Blizzard knows the truth, they have access to financial data, active users, avg daily game hours, etc.

With all due respect, in many cases, people who complain about gaming experiences are the ones that have never written a single line of code in their entire life, have no clue about hosting, infrastructure scaling, development, data retention, network transmission, etc costs and challenges.

Wrong forum? D4 ded.
