I’ve been a seasoned vet when it comes to d2 playing the original and expansion religiously for years so I was stoked they were remaking it and releasing on console. However I feel the load times are longer on my console than when I was running windows 98 on pc. I find it very aggravating when trying to go into duriel and get killed before I even load in, so I’m dead as soon as the screen jumps off the loading. I hear fighting before the loading is done and I just die. I’m not sure what can be done about this or if anyone from blizzard will even read this but there is no support for console so I can’t submit a ticket to get help.

The solution can be the hero doesn’t load in the room befor the console finishes the loading procedure. Now is the opposite, the hero becomes a punch bag before loading even starts.

You’re not loading in a game from the past. This one is perdy and has to be perdy so lunatics don’t complain the teeth arn’t straight’n shiney.

Yep, the ssd is one way to go. PS5 compared to PS4 dont have this issue. But this is probably not a good game design. To allow enemies to kill you on the loading screen is BS.

This happens on Nintendo Switch as well, so no SSD solution (which is a lame solution anyway).
Sorry your Nintendo Switch can’t be upgraded.
It’s not a lame solution for those that can upgrade. They would improve the load times of every game they play and could increase their storage capacity at the same time.
- I provided a gameplay solution that costs nothing.
- Mysticjola provided a hardware solution that costs money.
We can’t put all of the ownership of an issue onto a faceless entity, shaking our fist in the air. We have control of the reaction to adversity.
I was skeptical about how much the SSD would help loading on the ps4, but it does cut loading times by 50-75% in D2R. Duriel doesn’t move before you enter the chamber with an SSD.
Blizzard does need to fix this issue, but if you’re on a PS4, this does help a lot.

The switch is so outdated now. Why have they not come up with a newer updated model? The switch is still only 720p! What a joke!
Nintendo is a weirdo when it comes to hardware. I kind of praise them for creating unique systems though. Gaming is better with Nintendo around.
As for why no upgrade…
Who here can honestly tell what they’re thinking lol. No one thinks like they do.
What I’ve seen them do is aim for the younger gamers and create unique hardware that fits Japanese culture. While also trying to keep prices down so everyone can afford to game with a Nintendo Product.

on ps5 the loading screens are basically non-existent, it’s pretty nice actually, sometimes you even don’t see a loading screen at all.

I’ll try the external drive. Although I feel even if they can’t fix load times something as simple as spawning him to the back or even having his idle go there instead of hovering over where you spawn in would be an easy fix.

Whoever is advertising HD’s is making a killing right now.
I did the HDD to SSD internal upgrade. Used a Samsung EVO 870. Works amazingly well and D2R load times are pretty dang good too. Highly highly recommend the PS4 HDD/SSD upgrade.
Now, that’s not an out for Blizz though as dying while in a loading screen is simply piss poor pdeveloper programming.

IMO the programming is bad if bosses are allowed to kill you before you even enter the area. I wrote the Support because i can´t finish the game…i lost 9 keys and 3 organs and the whole weekend farming those for the event and lost all of them because i get a instant death message after enter uber tristram…
the only chance i see is a PC-Version so i can at least continue my chars and i think blizzard should give me a PC-Key in exchange for the PS4-Key…
i mean it´s not my fault that their can´t be finished on a PS4 with an HDD…
It just adds character to the game.
