Level 55 hardcore dead due to bnet

First of let me state that I DO NOT want this character revived in any way, that totally defeats the purpose of hardcore mode. I just want to post this as yet another example of why these server issues are unacceptable for a company as big as blizzard.
They really need to add lan play back, then issues are totally on your pc.

I was running Tal-Rasha’s tomb to gain a few extra levels before continuing on. Went into a room I though was clear. The back corner had a champion group of electric beetles. No problem just fire a frozen orb and run back to the door, like I had done many times before. I had almost made it to the door when my character location snapped back next to the group and I was dead instantly from all the electricity on the floor. No chance to heal, blink. nothing. According to bnet I just fired a frozen orb then sat there waiting to die.
It is a huge problem that playing the game has no clue where your character is and will snap you in and out of rooms when the bnet server decides ‘oh you are actually here’ which can happen quite often when the bnet servers are starting to have issues.

Please fix this game, there are way to many stories of people dying to lock up, game crashes, and server lag.
Also adding back lan play would solve a lot of problems. Like back in the day if you have an offline lan character they were not allowed to join online lobbies and I’d be totally fine with that.

Just to jump on this I’ve noticed a huge amount of desync lately, mind you I’m playing a ww barb now but he’s always resetting spots.

This has always happened. It wasn’t better in d2.

Stop playing it if you know there’s so much trouble with connections.

What happend here, you took a hit on your way back to the door had a hit recovery animation or whatever or you where body blocked by a beetle. Somthing that made you stop moving for a moment… got surrounded by beetles

There is occasionally a disparity between what you see on your screen and where you really are on the server. It used to happen a lot more in the old days lots of things can cause it.

You should’ve seen it back in the day on a frenzy barb mate. you had to steer well clear of bushes or pots on the ground or whatever… if your body got stuck on one of those and you kept running off without it you would disconnect completely after seeing a black wall of death (the edge of the rendered game environment) by comparison this is running sweet lol

If you want to cause it to happen run around on act one single clicking the fallen. They have a flee mechanic when one of them dies and they all run away for a moment and the server sometimes looses your position. Makes it feel like you have no attack rating because on your screen your swinging away and hitting nothing in actual fact the fallen is miles away and your stuck on a bush or a different mob :smiley: because on the sever you tried the chase the one who ran off but on your screen your standing right next to him and he did not move

I feel your pain. I don’t play hardcore, but my softcores have died several times due to being yoinked right back into a pack of enemies I got away from. It’s infuriating.
