The idea is to only allow characters that rely on weapon damage and\or chance to hit. Everything that “struggles” normally, due to lack of good weapons, lack of AoE and low chance to hit.
What’s allowed:
- elemental damage skills that are tied to the attack and have no AoE, like fire claw, vengeance, enchant, berserk, magic\cold\fire arrows, poison dagger - you still need the chance to hit, for it, and it’s based of weapon damage.
- summons that hit things (so wolves, grizzly, shadow warrior, valkyrie, melee skeletons, golems except fire, revived figheters\archers)
- Multiple shot, blade fury (they’re AoE but weapon based still)
- “Always hit” skills - guided arrow, smite (in 2.4 it will also be impale and assassins finishers when you have a charge)
- Some low-damage magic spells that you would consider “utility” are acceptable (level 1 frost nova for instance, and shiver\chilling armor, mind blast)
- Any utility ability without damage that would let us skip fighting if we chose to (e.g. Terror\Howl)
What’s not allowed:
- Weapon strikes that deal elemental AoE damage with hits - like the elemental martial arts charge-up skills, dragon tail, freezing\exploding\immolation arrow
- Charged strike is obviously not allowed
- Holy fire and shock auras. Holy Freeze is only allowed on merc.
- Any OP proc gear if we chance upon it (i.e. if we find a Gul we are not allowed to make Rift out of it)
- Caster mercs (that includes act 1 rogues if we are doing it on 2.4)
- I am not sure about shock wave, it may make things too easy. Let’s allow it for start and if it trivializes the play - druid will have to respec out of it.
- Obviously no help from outside the party (no gear, waypoints, actual help)
What’s encouraged:
- All kinds of party buffs - let’s get one of each damage aura, big ampify damage, big inner sight
I’d like to go through hell - and without any extra cheese like p1 boss spawning.
