Let's Address Fire Immunities

Thanks for the laugh.
Not everything in the game is about bot this and bot that.

You do know there are a multitude of ways to nullify cold almost in its entirety?
It has been discussed elswhere, and they still dont actually give the best way to do it.

I think u should max armageddon dmg slap on full aldurs fill it up with fire facets put 1 pt into werebear, lycanthropy, shockwave, and oak. Join a duel game and run around owning ppl

Alternatively they could introduce several new and affordable runewords in the patch that break immunities.

There’s only 2 ways to break elemental immunity in game:

  1. lower resist curse
  2. conviction aura

Lower resist curse offer worse performance than conviction aura generally speaking.

So…if you want something more affordable chances are it will provide lower resist…however as I mention LR perform worst than conviction, so it still would not break fire and cold immunity

And if you want to somehow get another item that gives even higher conviction aura…than it should be even more expensive than what infinity already required (maybe ber Cham ber jah ber zod?)

And even if they offer lv 25 conviction aura, there would still have certain amount of cold resist mobs that can’t have their immunity be broken

Conclusion: your idea may sound good on paper, but it is almost impossible to execute it in reality.

Fire absorb gear will destroy this setup

You are assuming they use already existing abilities when they could just print out a stat line like
“Enemies can no longer resist your “ice” damage” or
"Your attacks lower the enemies “fire” resistance by “80”

The first line is never been seen, I have no idea if such is possible, and no reason to assume that’s do-able

But your 2nd idea falls into passive lower resist category, and it does not work towards immunity. It is essentially same as 6os phaseblade with 6 fire rainbow facet.

The more realistic solution is to downturn fire and cold immune resist to the same level as lightning immune.

I sincerely hope you’re being sarcastic. O_O

Could they add a % of physical damage to Meteor (and only to Meteor)?

After all Meteor is a burning rock falling, so it make sense it would deal physical damage as well.

Volcano, Molten Boulder and Corpse Explosion deal both physical and fire damage. I think it would be only right for Meteor to cause 25% physical damage (50% may be too much?) to deal with fire immunes.

That’s the idea hopefully. They have to add/upgrade the physical damage components to fire skills to really make them shine imo or else they have to add in a way to break fire immunities.

I mean hammer damage is OP, but there are some chars that can wreck a hdin. Any competent windy or bone nec for example. Then there are hdins that basically slap on a grief, a liberator build, and can put up a fight. Hammers don’t really bother me in PvP I suppose. They’re just mega busted for PvM.

I mean they were added to curb bots and to “encourage group play.” He’s not wrong.

I know about resistance stacking in PvP among other things, but the point is that it’s not balanced at all when it comes to the actual damage a Blizzard inflicts vs something like Fire Ball. I’m mainly concerned with the PvM aspect of things though.

Well, I got a fire only sorc.and I just farm Mepho, Andariel, Pit 1 &2, Pindle and th e frigid highlanda WP champs. I can farm baal but it is slow with the merc, so I do not do that. Im fine though. I found a max. Andariels Visage the other day , Mephisto dropped it, sold it…

Yeah, it’s definitely doable in certain areas. It just sucks that you can’t run the fun areas reliable as a fire character imo. Meanwhile, a light sorc with infinity can farm anywhere. Damn you sold a perf andy?

Yeah cause I needed high runes
…and fire can farm Anya’'s level ! Frozen river I mean. Ohm dropped in there yesterday, it is a nice spot to farm, too bad nobody uses this location

Oh you meant traded it, gotcha. I’m like why would you vendor a perf andy’s haha. Yeah, I was doing some farming from crystal to anya before, didn’t get lucky though. Nice find with the ohm!

Hm,you need to make tons of attempts in there like in all other areas, it is a lv 83 area which is good enough even though it is not 85

Yeah I know it’s not the best alvl, but it’s decent. Maybe they’ll move it to alvl 85 with the new patch.

All of A5 is good , I found a Sur right next to the waypoint at frigid. There is nothing under lvl 80 in act 4 and 5 and in act 3 there is minimal areas under 80 as well. You can mf just about anywhere really

I’m not going to agree or disagree but IMO because we are talking demons and Hell etc… Fire should always be the hardest Element to make effective in combat.
