100% manual multiboxing is allowed by Blizzard. I recently asked Blizzard directly and Blizzard said it is ok.
Things that automate/facilitate multiboxing such as key mirroring is not allowed and bannable.

Correct, as I went on to say, you were arguing against the point. In regards to “it’s more than a word, it’s the entire concept” - I both agree and disagree. My point was that an entire concept can hinge on the meaning of one word. As an example in this case and context, “for” has the meaning of being banned exclusively because someone was multiboxing (which you argued against very well), whereas “through” in this case and context carries a different meaning of being banned for something else that they were doing that enabled them to and/or so that they could multibox (which was a point well argued by Zaman).
The reality of the argument you both you had is that neither one of you were necessarily wrong, you were simply arguing from different foundations, which is what I was trying to point out.
Except one is entirely wrong.
First and foremost, the claim was made that multiboxing will get you banned. That claim is entirely false.
Second, what someone does that is legal is not made illegal just because it was done at the same time or used to accommodate the legal act. One act was legal, and one act was illegal. No combination of the two changes this reality.
That makes one absolutely wrong and the other not wrong.

You are correct in this, as I have said, you argue your point very well and thoroughly. Having said that, the only point I am trying to make is that in doing so there is a failure to see that there are two different perspectives that are not diametrically opposed. Two similar concepts that can be held in tandem, while both being true. What may have started out as an opposition argument changed and evolved and it ended up not being so. It’s okay, it doesn’t always have to be a zero sum game.

Unless you think multiboxing can get you banned, there are two arguments that are in direct opposition. I’m confused what part you are arguing here.
If I have a valid driver’s license and I’m driving according to the law, but do a drive by shooting, does that make driving illegal? Was driving made illegal through the act of shooting at someone? Can I get on the internet and argue that people who drive are at risk of being thrown in jail for drive by shootings? Of course not. That would be a ridiculous argument.

Of course you buy the game x number of times to load 4 or more instances.
But the act of multiboxing is extra to buying the game.

vs someone paying to bot and look legit overnight. fix to this will be to enable a bo/ww merc for a5. create some a4 mercs with amp dmg or legit curse/auras to enable someone to not be build stuck in hell. The problem is douchebags have 0 clue of diablo 2 that are working it thus the lack of effort gone into season 5. sad, if d2 just hired a fan to direct how to better d2 it would be 10 times the game.

Also bo’d out sorc can do some damn useful tele runs for mf.
The true fix to this is either … make d2r openable for as many games you buy i.e. you pay them 8 copies of the game you can enable 8 man runs etc. 3 games for 3 player max etc. and make multi boxing illegal outside of vender products so 3rd party products would be banned.
other way is to ban multiboxing, enable /players8 command on bnet and ladder. QOL barb mercs to bo/ww/shout/battlecry Update qol a3 mercs to have a sword that can conviction aura, un nuck the ferfs. and then create an angelic and demonic a4 merc. demonic is like a mini diablo, casts fire storm, armegeddon and casts amp dmg. Angelic merc looks like tyreal and casts holy bolt on you and uses charge to attack, lower resists and has the aura of holy shock innately.
On top of the later option they would want to create loot filters, item stacking/currency page/auto rune upgrade system and a major upgrade to loot drops to prevent click who res from stealing someones loot.
These are 2 options blizzard as a company could do in a heartbeat but some douchebag who thinks they rate a director but is not director quality prevents them from doing.
