I dont know if anyone noticed but it seems that Leap attack was fixed. Its nice they are actualy fixing bugged skills.
I sure hope so. Isn’t that what alpha test are for?
I also hope they consider Act 3 Mercenary a bug.
Well some people were even against fixing the bugs which is kind of dumb in my opinion. So I am glad they are actualy fixing stuff.
Bugged skills are a little different than things that affect the drop rate of items and have influenced farming strategies for nearly 2 decades…
Yeah. Not fixing bugs sounds weird.
Allowing exploits… Still sounds weird…
I’m pretty sure the Andariel bug nerfs her normal drops.
To me that sounds like a permanent gimp on your character.
You mean if you don’t bug her? that’s one way to look at it.
I still think, as a remaster, the best plan is to not change drop rates from D2.
If it was patch 1.15 on old bnet server 10 years ago…I wouldn’t complain at all, but Bugruns are iconic now.
Exploit runs are iconic? They’re exploits.
Of coarse people are going to use them.
People have also been using bots for years.
In the end, we all just want to get the goodies.
Comparing a drop rate bug that is hard coded into the game is different than a server side program…this is disingenuous lol.
And yes, especially in classic where rares have more value than uniques, you would be essentially changing the entire way people farm for gear ilvl 62 and ilvl 76.
It changes a lot of the game, and everyone would be basically forced to only run 2 areas of the game, rather than the 4 that currently get run. It literally cuts the content in Classic by half.
What do you mean? its only andariel bug. Its not related to other drops. And other quest drop bug for all bosses is not related to other drops too.
It’s willful exploitation. Abuse of a loop-hole. Basically, it’s cheating.
I think there’s also a Duriel bug too.
There is special Andariel bug(happens naturaly for every fuiture kill if you go to act 2 when you kill andy and not leave game before going act 2)
and there are quest drop bugs for all bosses, which are done by killing boss while you dont have quest completed but game is completed by someone who already had it completed.
You can Qbug Andy, and Duriel permanently, though without maphack the latter is useless.
You can Qbug Meph, and Diablo reliably in pub games, and you can reliably Qbug Baal as a team.
It’s not cheating, it’s literally hard coded into the game, and they haven’t changed it in a decade+ it’s fine as is.
We don’t need to go changing drop rates just because they were incorrectly coded nearly 20 years ago…I’m glad the devs seem to understand this.
You don’t need Map hack for Duriel.
Just look for the tomb without a symbol.
I shouldn’t say useless…much less efficient. It’s really only good for facets, vs bugging andariel in a new game.
There’s a Duriel wall glitch. I saw a streamer get Duriel stuck on a wall outcropping and they could just stay in one spot and kill him without moving.
Not sure if that’s a carryover bug from D2 or a new bug due to environmental collision.
I’d argue that exploits are cheating. You are using the same argument that people who use exploits in more competitive games use to justify their cheating. “If it’s in the game then it’s up to the devs to fix it or else it’s fine to use.” and that’s just garbage. So yeah, we might as well just allow botting, because it’s so iconic.
I’d argue that exploiting tax loopholes is cheating. But it grants people an advantage that they can not be punished for, so why wouldn’t they abuse it.
Same concept.
Are bug exploits fair? Not really. Should we fix them? Maybe, but seems a little late for that - we’re so used to them they’re just part of the game.
Not all bugs are created equal.
Ebugging armor was unintended, but actually made a new class of items worth finding, and created an enjoyable experience and cube interaction.
I wonder, if leap attack was fixes, is Korlic actualy more deadly now?
