Ladder-Reset - missing Items

I logged back into my account after a long time. Since then, there’s been a ladder reset. I was horrified to discover that items are now missing. Runes are missing; suddenly I have 0 regeneration potions in my chest, not a single relic left (Talic’s Anguish, Korlic’s Pain, Madawac’s Ire, Bul-Kathos’ Nightmare, Worusks’s End), and not a single shard either. I’m wondering why this is happening—after all, I invested time in collecting them, and you’re just deleting my items. Especially my ladder-characters were the only characters in the RotW-Version. And no other character was upgraded to that. So it doesn’t even make sense that you deleted any item, there was no double-stash.

How long are we talking?

Going by your post you at least played RotW in Season 13. Right now we are in Season 15.

Item handling rules for Ladder are explained in the Patch notes. Read them!

Ladder is NOT for collecting stuff!

When a Ladder ends (e.g. Season 13) everything turns into non-ladder stuff before the next Ladder and unless that gear is handled it will all be gone upon next Ladder end (e.g. Season 14).

Meaning:

Ladder gear in Season 13 → none-ladder gear parked in retrieve-only stash tabs ahead of Season 14, overwritting anything that was in those tabs beforehand

Ladder gear in Season 14 → none-ladder gear parked in retrieve-only stash tabs ahead of Season 15, overwritting anything that was in those tabs beforehand

… ad infinitum

Sorry not sorry, but this system is total bs. I mean, in case of items in your stash, I totally agree to delete them. But Runes, Potions and Relics? Why on earth aren’t they just transfered to your stash? Name ONE SINGLE PERSON that doesn’t want to transfer these things to his non-ladder stash? Especially runes that have a droprate of 1:300.000? I am really wondering why you delete them instead. I played Season 13, that’s correct. And then I didn’t log in until last week. At least there should be a chance to transfer these things on your first log-in. But hey, go ahead and do your thing. For me as a big Diablo 2 fan for almost 20 years, this is one of the worst things you probably did - punish people for not playing the game and if they come back, they realize many things are gone. In my case, this is a big reason NOT to continue playing your game anymore. I know, it’s not your fault if people don’t read the patch notes, but you really should think about these changes - there should be a better handling for that.

This system was introduced with D2R on release! It is required due to the Shared Stash introduced in D2R. it is active since Ladder Season 1 and documented in all game’s Patch notes repeatedly BEFORE EACH NEW SEASON! Not reading them → your problem.

There is no automatic transfer of items because the server won’t know what to do with old ladder stuff when the non-ladder shared stash tabs are already full. YOU ALONE and no-one else is responsible for what happens with your old ladder gear. Everyone gets an entire Season aka 3 months to transfer old ladder gear. Not showing up → your problem.

Isn’t it you forcing player to play and limiting the character quanity on top? But hey, I won’t argue with you, it’s pretty much pointless. This is not costumer friendly - I stand by that opinion. You are losing players, I don’t mind to play something else but your game.

You mean .. not reading the Patch notes to you aloud to tell you how things are before you play?Yeah how dares Blizzard to leaving it up to the costumer to READ by themselfs …

err .. it was your choice to stay away a long time and not paying attention ..

Oh i wish it were .. who’d say “no” to being damn rich in RL?

Yeah sure, reading every single information about a game before playing it, ridiculous - especially when you don’t even know what you are looking for in the patch notes. How shall a costumer know which information is highly relevant and which isn’t. There are TONES of information in it.

For sure it was my decision. I have been playing D2 for 25 years now and I NEVER before had to think about stuff like that. Not a single item was ever reseted in any ladder on the original version of this game. So why now? Doesn’t make any sense at all.

And to answer your question: Being rich is like being drunk. Most people show a much worse version of themselves when they become rich. Same thing with alcohol. It changes your personality, only a few stay grounded. But I imagine you are a very young person - would explain your writings and your way to tell others your opinion. Don’t feel like you have much empathy.

All you NEED to read are the LATEST patch notes!

When you’'d read my replies you’d know. Once again you decided not to read.

Actually you decided not to read for 5 years since D2R and it’s ladder system is out that long already. This also tells us that you have NOT been playing 25 years by now. Therefore it’s pointless trying to explain things to the likes of you.

Begone!

Dude, D2 has always had ladder and non-ladder modes. And just because I haven’t played any ladder seasons in D2R doesn’t mean I haven’t played D2R at all. You do know there’s a non-ladder mode and an offline mode, right? And there is a very simple reason for NOT playing ladder - I had to delete characters first to play ladder because of the character limitation.

As I’ve already said: You lack any sense of empathy, and you don’t seem capable of critically examining existing systems, regardless of whether they’re useful or not. Deleting runes is NOT a useful system and could easily be fixed if they wanted to. And the reason they delete your runes if you haven’t logged in for too long is simple: they want to force you to play their game because otherwise you get punished for not logging in. Very smart system to get people addicted to a game. And I still stand by my point, this is not customer friendly.

Seriously: stop whinning !

YOU FAILED to learn OVER 5 YEARS what changed from D2/LoD to D2R like how it handles Ladder resets due to Shared Stash. This makes you 5 YEARS LATE to complain about anything D2R.

Then you claim you HAD TO DELETE characters to play Ladder while 1 D2R account holds up to 26 characters. A D2 veteran - as you claim to be - knows that a player can have multiple b .net accounts so basically unlimited room. And you had to delete characters .. yeah

You’re like those guys who’d sue a coffee shop for making hot coffee after you burned yourself with it. And you want empathy?

Scram!
