Since there will eventually be no cheats and bots in D2 resurrected , a legit 3-4 months ladder will be too short , especially for Hardcore players , is not about gaining level 99 asap but also finding a Godly PvP gear too , that gear takes time , and 6 Months is the perfect time for that
Although duping I would argue can be greatly decreased, botting, especially on softcore will still be a thing. Not hard to program a bot to just run around, especially good old nihl, but hopefully they have a harder time pathfinding without as much access to certain information. Hardcore would probably be the cleanest way to play, even bots will die and if they can fix duping it will be a much cleaner market. Only thing you need to get your hands on are ladder only runewords that you can sell once the season ends, I am good with 6 months though, I do think 3 months is pretty short.
3 months for softcore would be awesome. Leaving it at 6 for hardcore and 3 for softcore would be even better.
I general hacks and bots are forcing the ladder to be shorter , if the game is total clean from third party programs even 6 Months wont be enough

I think 3 months is good enough. Lvl 99 Ladder seasons are meant to be for those who archive that level in short notice, not for everyone to get to that level.
This would keep the ladder seasons more active than they are now, where after the third month (more or less) people become inactive until next reset.
3 months would make the economy alive, the players competitive in PvM (Mfing, farming, etc…). If bots are controlled by Blizzard, the economy will also be controlled in Non-Ladder for the PvP (getting top-tier items from ladder runewords will be extremely hard if there are not bots around).
I don’t know what you guys are thinking with “voting” the ladder to be every 6 months or every 12 months. The true essence of the game is to get manually to level 99. Now, playing on regular basis every day for “x” hours will make you archive this level in 3 months. If you’re not able to do so, bad luck, try again in next season.
Some duels do not allow runewords but only rares/magics , and those can not be found within a 3 Months ladder season
There’s a mentally we’ve to change then.
We’re so used to have bots around that will get the necessary loot within a month that we’re “addapting” to that.
If you want to Duel into top tier level without any runewords - do it in “No-Ladder”. Here not only you can farm for a life-time, but you’ll get every 3 months a bunch of new items from the previous season.
You may not find those “rares/magics” within a 3 month ladder season, but after few ladder seasons you will eventually find them - let’s remember the drop ratio is the same, and it doesn’t matter when you’re archiving it.
Yeah, it may take longer for you to duel “properly” (with properly I mean with the items you want), but you have to adapt to a whole new game, where the economy will be completly reset everywhere, and where let’s assume - no bots and only manual loot, which would completly change the way of dueling. Just adapt.
I like 6 month ladders, i would rather keep them the old way, blizz needs 2 ban hammer bots faster , and more actively if thats the reason for 3month ladders
If Vicarious Visions change the ladder from 6 months to 3 months. I think It might be more cheaters in the game that are trying to reach the Ladderbord.
Keep 6 months period. It was never a problem with this, why even change something that works.
Indeed ! The only reason i see they want to cut the ladder into 3-4 months is because they know the game will be flooded by cheats and bots super fast and they wont be able to controll that !
Ergo they want to implement more changes that actually punish the legit player base who just want to play at their own pace, fast MF games, slower ladder season.
The second they put game/hour and temp bans for logging in and out too quickly when muling to combat bots, they actually drove a TON of legit players, to bots…
I’m also for the 6month range.
The first month is to race to char completion and the last month is used to sell off gear rapidly.
I also would prefer 6 month ladders.
With the high level of RNG in D2 how are you suppose to farm high runes, legitimately (no botting) in 3 months? The bots should be the focus here.
Diablo has always been plagued by cheating, the legit players shouldn’t have to pay the price with a short later season. I’d be even willing to enter in a challenge code every so often to verify im a human if it came down to it. I mean I HATE captcha but if it stopped botting I would deal with it. Just a off the top of my head idea

4-5 month ladders I’m good with… just give me the full game for offline single player also.
Agreed, 4-6 is good. Allow Ladder content offline as well but not NL. These should be seperate.
