After patching 2.4 when I create games, it’s just pure black screen. What is going on!!!
It never happened before after your 2.4 patch!
I get this also. Just with one character (my main one 
) all other characters seem to be okay. I have tried joining games also and it shows the loading screen but the door never opens and eventually I get the failed to join game message and cool-down. Please help blizzard!

I found a fix further down the bug reports. By joining a different server realm (Asia for instance) then starting a game there it worked. Then going back to my old realm I was then okay.

black screen for me, too. I can relaunch game any amount, doesn’t help, same characters are blacked after choosing difficulty.
Same as this.
Black screen on my hammerdin when trying to enter game which completely crashes the game (have to ctrl+alt+del to close), yet other chars work perfectly find on the same bnet account.
Only happened since 2.4 release yesterday.

i’m experiencing this black screen issue if my windows10 has windows-updates “downloaded but waiting for installation” or “is installing windows updates at the same time when d2r is running”. is this problem still there if you stop the windows update service before starting d2r ? (run–>cmd–>net stop wuauserv)
PC/Mac/Linux (with OS version & hardware specs) or which Console… come on guys you can’t just expect Blizzard to solve your issues through “voodoo magic”. You need to provide more details than “It’s broke! Fix it!”

for me the solution (at apr 14th) was to stop/kill windows update service, which aborted the current download/installation/pending tasks that windows update performed in the background while d2r was running.
today i had the same behaviour - black screen when joining d2r online games on europe. this was again clearly caused by some windows update tasks in the background while d2r was running (some office update). after all wu tasks were finished, the black screen problem was gone.
the first april ms-patchday for win10 was two days before 2.4 release - at 04-12th. maybe at 2.4 release there had been some similiar situations on other w10-d2r-clients with wu update tasks in the background.
maybe-not-patch-2.4-related ?
