You already have that option. It’s called Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. Load it up and play to your hearts content.

You had plenty of warning about the removal of TCP-IP before the game was released. If that was the deal breaker, you should have requested a refund if you preordered or not bought the game.

Yeah it sucks that they did that, but there must be a good reason for them to have done it. (Look what happened with the technical Alpha)

Tcp ip wad removed because it’s existence allows data harvesting from the servers end. Bnet would already be a bot cesspool if tcp ip existed.

The “good reason” comes down to money. They’re afraid people would pirate the game and play multiplayer via tcp/ip connections. They already have our money though, so they should implement the feature again. We’ve seen just how great being forced to play multiplayer on their servers is. Lol. I’d love to see a private server for D2R too. The people that do it in their spare time are much better devs than the people working at Blizzard.

I won’t argue with that one.

It’ll get better as time rolls on. Just a few more minutes to go… Then maybe a few more afterward.

I think you spelled “months” wrong.

Eh? You speak as if there are no available methods of playing the game multiplayer.

the only issue with TCP-IP is that people could play multiplayer without buying the game.

It’s about money, not about saving the players from themselves. They can try to sound all grandiose about it, but it’s literally just greed.

official one i dont see any ?

Hmm…

(original MSRP) $60 for Diablo II + $35 for LoD = $95

2000 → 2022 dollars: $95 in 2000 is worth $156.52 today

D2:R = $40
You could buy D2:R nearly 4 times over with the purchasing power originally used to pay for DII+LoD.

where is the official online feature?

I mean there’s only one now. Through Blizzard’s servers that they managed to make worse 6 months after release. Haha

You’re comparing a remaster to new games. They mean greed as in, making sure that nobody is able to play multiplayer through pirated copies. They wanted to max out their income. They also wanted people to always be on their servers for their numbers for shareholders.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t know many who like working for free.

what are you trying to say? That Blizzard cares less about profit now, or something? Because that is complete BS.

It’s not working for free. They would have sold a lot regardless. The point that matters is that they removed a previously promised feature in order to maximize profits. So, players got screwed in order for them to make more money.
