so if your a rich zon, what is your shield of choice for pvm? im not rich. but i recently made an infinity, and im having a hard time keeping up with mana, is phoenix the way to go? what do people do when they use infinity and jmod? or is jmod for pvp?
Jmoc. SS or Spirit.
Phoenix only brings redemption to the table and I would only use it in casual cows. With sunder charms the 400 ed are useless
so an end game gear zon uses jmod for pvm aswell? and what about mana use, buy more mana pots?
if you can buy a jmod, sure why not. But i would use it only if your other gear is strong enough. Normally you can use a spirit shield. Phoenix is a nice shield but with 4 hr not that easy to get.
PvM javas prefer jmoc because they don’t go maxblock without SS
so im no where near a jmod or jmoc, but its my goal to gear my zon out before i make another char. how do you figure out mana issues? just more mana pots?

I play Hardcore so I run with StormShield.
I solve all my mana problem with 9 mana after kill total in my gear (see post above), plus 6% Mana leech (but I use Tstroke, so majority of my mana comes from MAEK, not ML)
Phoenix on Java it’s a waste.

Hardcore or softcore ?
Stormshield is your only choice on hardcore or you will get 1 shot eventually
Spirit, Jmod or jmoc for softcore
Insight on merc for mana
Only necessary if you plan on random teleporting.
Infinity. Nothing else.
For PvM non-hardcore use spirit. It is great overall; resists, huge mana, +2 skills. Jmod / Phoenix not worth the cost.
You already have an Infinity so now focus on getting any Griffon’s diadem if you haven’t.
For mana issues I run with 3% on gloves and +1 mana after each kill on rare rings (with resists).
Mana after each kill will be more noticeable than mana leech on gear. Mana leech depends on physical damage and more importantly on attack rating. So it is less reliable than mana after kill.
Note this, if your pierce is NOT a 100% the effects of leech and mana per kill will be diminished so make sure you are running with 100% pierce which you can easily get by using Wisdom runeword (which I used before getting Griffon’s because all it’s stats are awesome for javazons) or by using razortail belt. If you need to put a bit of hard points in Pierce skill in order to achieve 100% pierce do it. It’s worth it.

I got ahold of a wisdom on Non-Ladder. The stats are Amazing for javazon
I dont use my griffons anymore, Even frees up a ring slot cuz it has cannot be frozen
As for shield, Spirit with the wisdom helm so phoenix isnt even needed
Yes I Loose damage not using griffons but I think its worth it

Of course you need to teleport if you want to farm fast
1, Enemy light resistance reduction does not work on you when your merc is holding infinity
2. Conviction aura got a few second delay which means your first 1 to 2 hits can’t use the benefit of aura. You should be able to kill most of the mobs within 2 hits with okay gears.
Insight is better for mana if you want to teleport around. Without teleport, infinity won’t help you much either, you don’t want to wait for merc to walk to mobs and wait for aura to apply then start killing
Random is the keyword.
17% on sundered and 85% on non immune from conviction. Nobody cares about-res on mercs.

According to my experience, the damage of the first 2 hits are always lower when I was playing light sorc with infinity on merc.
The aura anime/graphic effect on mob does not apply immediately. Every aura of act 2 merc come with a delay, you can check your stats after you go out of town. Your stats wont change in a while. I searched this case on google, I also saw complains about infinity conviction aura delay . That’s why I said there is delay on the aura of infinity.
I have a Lightning Sorceress and a Javazon. I use Phoenix on both because I can’t be bothered with potions.
A dual leech ring with high mana leech may be the solution to your mana issues. As for shield I prefer Sanctuary Troll Nest for mb setup. But if you are really having mana issues then spirit may be a nice shield to go with for a vita setup. As for Phoenix, you can wear it on your cta side if you feel that you need to redeem corpses for mana.
