You can only make trade with 40 item slots. So it is pointless to value something with more than 40 pgs. Noone will trust you to give him more after one trade is done and you already have his rune(s)
Amethysts are the most valuable, as these are used for crafting bis caster amulets (p. amethyst + ral + any jewel + magic amulet)
Rubies are also useful in crafting.
Well, yes, but as I said, time is money so waiting 10-20 mins for a trade is not as profitable as instantly trading it and getting back to farming. Holding inventory and sitting idle is costing you too. Most people donāt account for it. So you should always be trying to trade now especially if you are making profit on lower value runes Ist, Gul, Vex, Ohm.
Sur + Lo may theoretically be valued the same as Ber but the problem is that you may only hit a market of people already holding 1 Sur which is less demand so that is less value to Sur. Also, itās rare to find anyone wanting to make runewords using Sur.
You will probably find more people willing to trade for 2Lo than Sur+Lo for Ber.
Fair point.
But I still stand on that 0.35 hr is too big difference for that little time. You can find buyer/seller rune-for-rune very fast.
Also a lot of people either use outside-game platforms (websites, including this forum) for trading or some have more accounts so they can broadcast what they have for trade while still keeping farming. So the trade consumes little to no time for themā¦
Sure, but even then you have to deal with time, if you donāt get your trade off in a timely manner your items might get devalued. This is especially true for ladder.
People are looking to trade down just as often as people are looking to trade up for one. Unless you arenāt using any discords or anything, then maybe itās harder. That has not been my experience though.
Like I said, Sur+Lo usually trades if the person is already holding Sur but not if they donāt have a Sur in pocket. The only other time I could see someone trading Ber for Sur+Lo is if they plan on trading Sur for Lo+Vex or Sur+Vex+Gul for Ber.
Itās not that is canāt be done, itās just you are getting lower value and having to do more work to get value from trading Ber for Sur+Lo and you get more value from trading Sur+Lo for Ber.
Ah ok. Thank you. How much are open socket items worth usually in terms of pgems or even runes? I am guessing it depends highly on the number of sockets and the armor type but like for say a 3 open socket chest armor (exceptional quality), what would that be worth nowadays? I only remember when I played D2 almost 2 decades ago that regular and open socket archon plates were the most wanted, I think due to Enigma runeword but it might be during or after the duping overran the D2 economy.
EDIT: I forgot to mention what armor class too lolā¦ so like for medium armor class, the ones that have like a -10% penalty for run/walk and -50% stamina drain I think.
You will have hard time trading heavy armors. If ethereal, they can be used for mercs for Treachery of fortitude.
For the lower str-req ones, non-superior are around Pul, superior can get high, there is giant difference between 14% and 15% (perf) ed also. 15% ed armors of some type (for example 3s dusk shroud) can be very expensive.
Armors that can have maximum 4 sockets are more valuable when they only get 3 sockets, because you can get the maximum (in this case 4) sockets trough Larzuk quest, while 3 sockets you can only get by direct drop or with cube recipe (i think Amn, Ral + amethyst, or this one is for weapons, not sure now). These recipes give random number of sockets and cannot be used on superior items though, so superior armors with 3 sockets (which can have 4 max.) are quite valuable.
Armors that can only have max 3 sockets (for example mage plate) are not that valuable with 3 sockets as you can get them easy with the quest, which work even for superior versions.
For weapons, its much more complicated, greatly depends on weapon type.
For example polearms are only valuable with 4 sockets (infi, insight rw).
Another example - Phase blade and Berserker axe can have max 6 sockets, but the most used rw, Grief, need 5 sockets, so superior versions with 5 sockets are very valuable.
With 6 sockets, they can be used for BOTD runeword, but then they need to be ethereal to make use of that Zod runeā¦
