Item Bots Are Quite Ridiculous

Is anyone else thinking that these bots (being that you can no longer block them) are ran by Blizz themselves? Otherwise I do not see how they could stop people from blocking them nor be banned for botting. I have seen in some forums that people are being banned for using bots and map cheats but am still seeing tons of item selling bots spamming the heck out of the lobby.

There have been plenty of conspiracy theories about this, but logic/common sense tells you that it isn’t true.

If it were true and it were ever made public, think of the ramifications… They aren’t that stupid.

I should have been more clear. I was more referring to some Blizz employee rather than the company themselves. how else to explain that the bots cannot be blocked? I do not know of a way to stop someone from being able to block. That would kind of defeat the purpose of the block system.

No, I seriously doubt that a Blizzard employee would have purposely limited the number of people that can be squelched. I’d bank on it being a limitation of the primitive lobby function of the game as it was made for release.

Hopefully the upcoming lobby update will better aid us in solving the spam bot problem.

Get your tin foil hats on boys.

Pixel bots are almost impossible to detect with automation. It simulates a human looking at the screen and reacting to whats displayed

More like a tinfoil suit for these forums.

If the lobby update does nothing to address spam bots, I will be pretty confused. Not even mad or disappointed, but very confused.

I am assuming they will add some ways to detect item store spammers and give them the ban.

That says nothing to address why they cannot be blocked. If they are somehow hacking the system to disable blocking then they would be banned, correct? As far as I know the only ones able to disable blocking functions are the mods themselves. That combined with the knowledge of their want to put a real money auction house into D3 and the current debacle of Diablo Immoral is what gave me this thought.

My guess and it’s just a guess is D2R still uses a lot of code from the old lobby/server. The spam bots I feel are getting around it somehow and that’s why an improved lobby is coming. Also why the lists are trash and all the other lobby issues.

I hope the improved lobby has other features people wanted since they are working on it but in the end I feel the main reason was to improve this type of stuff.

Really? But yet stupid enough to act like frat boys and chase skirts, and sexually harass? But not stupid enough to see they can get away with anything to make real money because they have the access???

You really are some kinda special.

Look what kind of negative attention it got those that were involved… There were some that were casting the blanket of shame on EVERYONE that worked at Blizzard.

Now imagine the backlash if they were caught making money by running bots to farm and sell items… Speaking of which, why would they even run bots? Hello logic, oh yeah, DUH… They could just create the items, no need to run bots.

Aren’t we all special though? That’s what all of our mommas told us, right?

Because this is all based on tech that was created 22 years ago (probably like 23-24 as it takes some time to make the game). At that time things like space and storage were a much bigger concern than they are these days. PS1 games used to come on multiple disks because of storage issues. Today? You have to have 100 GB free to play CoD.

I’ve always suspected Blizz employees run bots in WoW and such because their paychecks must be too low

Not sponsored at the corporate level, perhaps, but I still suspect foul play. I love wearing tinfoil hats. So much better than drinking the cool-aid and believing whatever you are told.

Every game has cheaters etc etc Diablo is and always will be full of Bots, MH’s , Hackers in general the game was literally designed for botting.

I always thought blizzard was running them back in OG d2 as well way into the games lifespan.I never actually said anything lol but I always thought it was a possibility they were the ones spamming the websites since before that if that happened the account was banned in an hour. But on the other hand this is different then OG d2 in account creations cause you didnt have a limit on how many accounts you could have in OG d2.Just make sure you remember all your passwords and accnts if you did

what ramifications? you think there would be consequences? lol afraid not bud

You say no, then don’t elaborate why you said no? You have to tell me why you think otherwise instead of “LOL afraid not bud” otherwise your rebuttal is meaningless.

why would i need to elaborate? honestly only someone completely brain dead would argue that blizzard wouldnt do such a thing

example: diablo immoral. these dudes would punch your grandma for money… you dont think they would work in tandem with botters?

Tip: Don’t ever become a lawyer.
