It sucks being a Mac owner

Effin great. I wish I knew that I couldn’t play this classic game since Apple is being a dick.

NOT SUPPORTED FOR MACs. FML

Money spent for NOTHING.

It does suck, but I think it is because of how Mac’s OS works and how frequently they are updated that causes some game Devs to just not want to support it.

20 years later and you still try to game on a Mac? Shame on you for never learning.

Put windows on it, I did that for a couple games on my Mac, but then I got a pc for gaming and just use the Mac for work type stuff

Nah, it’s Apple being douches and having burned Blizzard on multiple occasions. I’m pretty sure the final straw was when Apple purposely blocked nVidia from even making graphics drivers for existing hardware, let alone new hardware, causing an even greater support nightmare to happen at the time.

Bottom line here is working with Apple is like sticking your hand in a pit bull’s mouth and hoping it won’t bite it off out of spite.

I bought an iMac once. 1st intel model they made. No support for games. Music managing and things like that is good. Gaming sucks

if it’s an m1 mac you can’t because they went to arm processors that they design in house so that they could lock down the machines and have full control over what you can do with it.

First mistake,

Gaming on a Mac. Absolute genius here, I have never once heard ANYONE say OMG my gaming experience on Mac has been AMAZING

I can just grab a cardboard box and stick a couple of hamsters in there and blame blizzard for not providing compatibility to my hamster PC

why would you spend 3 times more for a mac, when you could have bought my pc for 400 dollars and then 7 more at the price you paid for your mac.

I bet you own a tesla as well.

And your own tennis court, and half a nfl football team.

And 3 houses, 1 for vacation in the hamptons, 1 for when it gets cold in colorado, and 1 for when you are feeling spicy.

Honestly people that prefer Macs are just the people that have no real knowledge about PC/laptops in general…

They want it because it looks nice and all their friends have it. More about keeping up their appearance on Instagram than actually finding a machine that does the job

Exactly right, and then they whine about never having anything available to them the meager 1% of all video game sales with the highest pc cost. laughs evilly

Its insane, because its like buying an xbox and making a fuss about not being able to play a switch game. Its become their actual social identity, I’m the cool hip person with a Mac

The funniest thing is they think Macs are actually superior and only POOR people buy android because they simply lack class.

Well poor people out number rich people 1 billion to 1. They better get their metrics right. No matter how many security guards you recruit, I guarantee we have more call of duty players with ptsd to get rid of them and have some to spare to breach defenses haha “hypothetically speaking” this is obviously all in jest, we would never revolt against our rich overlords.

Some serious fanboy type stuff here. :joy: like who cares what choices a consumer makes on phones and such these days? The Xbox/PlayStation wars are strong with this one :joy:
Personally, I think macs are better at certain task, like photo editing, but pc is the way to go for gaming, people make choices on what to buy every day, hmm, should I get that new Xbox or the PlayStation? Pc or Mac, Chevy or Ford? As for the op, well he should have looked at the requirements for the game, heck, I preordered through my Mac, for my pc :joy:

That’s what you get for buying a crapple mate. r.i.p

The people that buy apple products do. I actually feel bad for them spending so much more money on an inferior product because they have been baited by advertisement and peer pressure.

It doesn’t matter what choices people make but dont expect companies to accommodate for your bad choices.

 Absolutely delusional if you think apple is better is any way shape of form.

Between the whole right to repair fiasco and all the limitation updates that purposely slow down your machines. Heck if you needed a new gpu or cpu you gotta spend another 4000 to buy a new laptop because you are literally not allowed to open it up and have a look.

Sure, that’s why all developers use Macs too. 890 usd, mba m1, best laptop on the market. If you buy a laptop to play, whatever it is, you’re a moron

To be fair to Apple, their products are knows for being productivity machines… they have ALWAYS been terrible for gaming.

You’ve got a good heart, and alot of it. This is de way

SPOT ON.

I am an old gamer. My choice wasn’t dictated on gaming in my youth. I’m a retired artist from the newspaper business. I was there when all this was being invented. I was there when Adobe bought out Aldus Freehand. I was there when the GUI was better on Mac than PCs and could print out fonts to paste up spec ads for customers. I was there when Diablo and Diablo II came out and bought the later at version at 1.02. I was there when Jobs died. I’ve experienced many aspects of tech advancement. I am not an ignorant. AND, I DO own a PC as my wife and I love playing this game together. I am by no means rich. Many artist (like myself) make a crap salary and I use to spend countless hours moonlighting just to make ends meet with three children.

Judge me all you want. I don’t really give a damn. My point is threefold. 1. Blizzard should of made the specs for D2R more prominent. (As this is the ONLY game I play.)

2. The cost of a GeForce RTX 3070 or 3080 is ridiculous (if you can even find one.) For a good gaming PC — I will have to spend a good chunk of money, which on my limited budget is hard to attain. I am in the process of saving to buy ANOTHER PC. I loath the fact that APPLE has become so proprietary and hate the present leadership the company is under. I am in no means a fanboy. Far from it.

3. Malware/bloatware, security is a real issue with PCs from my past experiences. The trust in the industry to deliver a secure system is questionable at best. And YES, I have purchased software to protect all my OS systems.

There is enough blame for all. — YES, I should of been more diligent in making sure it would work on my old 2010 MacPro running Mojave. YES, Blizzard should of made it VERY CLEAR D2R wouldn’t run on Macs and APPLE shouldn’t be such dicks for not allowing to share their APIs to allow for more gaming on their overpriced crap.

My post was brought by whining and frustration. Big mistake. I don’t go around posting on a whim — if ever. Empathy doesn’t seem to exist much in today’s world. Thank you for your understanding and I will be playing D2R in the future on a PC. Just don’t PK me when you see me playing. I would appreciate it.
