It’s baffling to hear the people defending Diablo Immortal’s insane p2w

“Just don’t pay if you don’t want to”

“Why does it bother you what others do with their money”

“Play for yourself”

These people don’t seem to understand that the pay 2 win has an immense impact on free to play players even if they don’t interact with P2w people

All P2w and especially A greedy company like blizzard will skew the content toward pushing… forcing you to pay money, balancing the game to be unbearable to non-paying people

It’s like if instead of Ber being 1:50000, it was nerfed to 1:400000 and they offer you to buy a Ber for 20$

Pay to win does have an impact on the game balance

And we have not even talked about P2w restricted powers lol

If you don’t like it, then don’t play it.

I don’t like anchovies. Guess what? I don’t order anchovies. I don’t complain about them either.

Don’t play phone games. easy solution.

And what if I like anchovies but the waiter sprays windex on it

My issue is not the game but rather the monetisation system that negatively impact the game

I’m pretty sure the game would be fun if it wasn’t based on an unethical predatory monetisation system

Lets play the big brain guessing game…

Why do you think the game is free to play?

I agree with Sekscalibure – and it is a trend in gaming that should continue to be spoken out against instead of accepted by people who just say “well don’t buy it then”. This is the kind of trend that spoils everything around it over time.

Poe is free to play too and it’s not pay to win

Counter strike is free to play and it’s not pay to win

Poe mobile will be free to play and it won’t be pay to win

The only way to stop the p2w model is to not play the games that have that model. Don’t buy it, don’t play it, don’t interact with it. Then go out and buy and play the games that use the model you like.

Then get millions of others to follow you.

Unfortunately the credit card and laziness both exist, so p2w is likely only going to grow in popularity.

PoE is free to play sure, but aren’t there… “Quality of life” upgrades that you must pay for in order to get? Something that as you play for free, you yearn for, perhaps even would classify as a “need” in order to continue playing… Aren’t the players notified on a regular basis about them? Maybe they run discounts on those upgrades occasionally just to bump people off the fence so they’ll get them?

ew, pay to win? wasnt it bad enough to have big numbers and obliterate any hope of pvp in D3?

well, I know which game I’m not buying. I dont expect D4 to be any better at this rate. D2 was the last game to do things right. D3 flopped, D:I is going to flop, and D4 is probably going to flop too at this rate.

They should focus on improving D2 since it’s the only one doing anything right lol

It’s not only pay to win

It has Paygated character development

that is really as far from the Diablo construct as anyone can get. Diablo has always been “buy the game, and play” it never was a game that cost money past the initial purchase. I cant understand why they think this is a good idea…is immortal on mobile or something?

i’m the same way about olives. hate the damned things and my folks love them. i don’t throw the pizza out though, i just pick em off the top and go about my day without making a scene

I feel like gaming in this age has gone back to playing SP for yourself alone or playing a game you like on a private server, where there is no cashgrab involved.

Only private server makes sense because even single player is corrupted by the P2w balancing

At least in a private server the mods can balance it back to normality

I agree. It’s sad to see people defend it. It doesn’t matter if we don’t play it or not, enough whales will. Once these companies see how much more profitable it is to go P2W, it’ll invade their other games too. Poe currency tabs are way different @Jedi, they don’t increase your drop rates or anything. I’d take stuff like that over actual P2W elements any day.

It’s ok to be disappointed when a sequel is trash…

Decentralized is the way. What games still do this? Minecraft and a few Valve games? Made around 2009. I’m not a fan of this “publisher controls everything and you’re always connected” ßhit that started to take hold around 2012.

D2 always was like this in mp, but sp used to be decentralized. I miss that, and wish they would bring it back. I dont want to get banned for using a hero editor in sp. I DO want to play lan/tcp-ip with my fellow people in the same home.

either way, I am strongly against p2w. I absolutely will never pay cash to get ahead or remain relevant on a game.

Can someone explain to me how DI will be pay to win? I don’t follow the news for it. I thought it might be cosmetic changes only?
