Is wealth the answer to top ladder

only way to gear out on D2R is to pay for it. Runes should not be so hard to come by that you have to buy them from outside source to compete on the top level especially when the ladder season is way shorter than previous seasons of a year or greater. Hi runes need to be more accessible to everyone for a more enjoyable experience. I also play d3 which is quite frankly much more fun to play because of the much easier to gear up. With d2 feeling like a complete grind and frustration of the lack of good items. So I ask is d2R built for those exploiting the game with outside sources to items where you pay to win? I’m playing D2r because of my past history and love for the game but I find myself depressed and tired because I feel like I’m swimming in mud while playing. as they say the definition to insanity is to repeat the same process with the same out come. Game needs a decent amount of rune drops with getting the best stats on items a higher priority for end game. Right now the game is under full duress of private sites as the soul way to achieve end game items. I have played d2 back in the day with getting 6 hours sleep over 4 days and now I’m in my 50’s and don’t have the will to play such ridiculous hours and in all the time I’ve played this game the highest rune I’ve had drop was a gul and all others were bought and that should not have to be the way to succeed especially since we’re looking at a 4 month ladder season. There is much more enjoyment to the game to be able to help others than to go through days and days of struggle and be no closer to finding hi runes.
I find myself wanting to quit the game entirely and go back to my decked out Monk in D3 rather than play D2R and going mad but I know the fun I could have making multiple character instead of being stuck on a Sorc as the only viable way to get around. Besides those profiting from exploits of the current design I’m sure the overall players would find a much more enjoyable experience with a decent Hi rune drop rate.

Nope. Having a constant And coordinated team along with being a Paladin is the way to top the ladder. Look at the top. Almost all Paladin in top 10. With one FoH Paladin on your team, you will faceroll P8 CS naked. You don’t need to actually buy anything to top the ladder.

If you play in a group, you don’t need any high runes in 2.4. Have a sorc tele past river, your FoH has built in conviction aura. No need for enigma or infinity. You don’t need cta since you should have a buff barb. You aren’t very good at this are you?

my goals are not to top the ladder charts but rather be geared enough not to rely on others. my end game is to be op I could care less about rank. I only play ladder to get full use of items not available in regular play. I could never compete on the ladder rank with the best gear in the game because I have a life outside of video games and I have nothing to prove by spending endless hours do the same thing over and over.

Ok. I just pointed out the entire premise of your post is wrong though. You were talking about needing to spend money to top ladder and the ones who top it don’t. They don’t need to. They have a set team and the high drops come easily in full games. Have a blizzard sorc, Javazon, buff barb, FoH Paladin, smiter and a couple hammerdins and you are gonna fly through the levels. Sure, if you only solo, you may need to trade for the high runes you want. However, I’m swimming in gear and runes with a bargain basement FoH Paladin as a pindle/chaos runner and a hydra sorc to clear stony tombs. My sorc already has full Tal just from the Paladin farming pindle and nothing was traded for either. With solo play, I’ll probably get either enigma or infinity eventually with just farming and some trading.

The Paladin clears pindle from login to logout in 20 seconds with no risk with dual spirits, goldwrap , chances, nagels and p-topaz filled head and chest. It is really unfair how powerful they are now.

I can see your a d2jsp player, now it all makes since. go away troll

Lets suppose I’m a noob. Does that mean because I might not be as success as you I should commit suicide? you should take your love for the game and play it instead of badgering me on the forum. hopefully blizzard will ban you soon for such a outrages statement in which I took a lovely screen shot of. I have attempted suicide before I don’t need your encouragement.

I didn’t encourage anything. Just saying what I would do.

On another note, do you fail at everything you attempt in life then? You aren’t just a failure at the game?

So what? Do 1000 runs and end up with one pair of war travs. Pindle is like the worst farm for your brain. Pindle is meant for bots. Fohadin is only powerful in p1 with +skills.

Nah, it is pretty nice to do when you know you may not have a ton of time and just want a few runs here and there. You can hop in for 10 or 20 minutes and not worry about getting involved in something long and drawn out.

i haven’t payed a single dime for any diablo 2 gear.

currently lvl 92 with infinity, griffons, hoto, sick fcr ring… etc etc… no one needs to PAY MONEY to have top gear… you just have to grind efficiently and use jsp. and using JSP does not mean paying money. it means trading efficiently.

My point is that the Fohadin build is not overpowered. And is only capable of a few actual farm spots, ie chaos and pindle.

a game built correctly shouldn’t need a outside source(J2jsp)

Current inna monk is not real d3

Chaos is the best farming spot in the entire game though. Pindle is high on the list since he can drop all but 3 items in the game. Can also obliterate pits faster than any other character if you like that run. Faster than poison necro with less gear.

ya but they literally did not think about trading past that AWFUL trade window LOL. they haven’t moved a single muscle in 22 years when it comes to trading, so that’s what we have… my post wasn’t to bring that to light… more so… you don’t need money to have good gear.

Good at farming a popular area at p1 doesnt not mean OP in my view. To each their own though!

I am farming 4 of the upgraded 85 area’s with tombs in act 2 being my most frequent spots.
I’m plus 8 to skills in my current Sorc. What I would like to have is a decked out hamerdin with enigma, hoto, cta, and some goodies for my merk but that goal seems unreachable at this point from what I’ve seen.
