Is using a BO loader against ToS?

You can’t worry about it because ToS are written to basically include every possible thing you could do, that way they can ban you and there would never be any legal recourse possible.

Something like a loaded in BO barb or loaded in chars for better drop rates will probably never be banned.

Something like a loot filter would most likely never be banned, but much more likely to be banned.

Something like maphacks/bots/PK hacks etc will always eventually get you banned.

People pretend like they “know” what the ToS is directly speaking on, but they don’t and Blizzard will never give you a definitive answer either.

Of course this had to turn into an argument about whether we should be allowed to do it, and why. That wasnt the question. This wasn’t meant to be a debate about what SHOULD be allowed, but about what actually IS and ISN’T allowed under the current rules. I also find it astonishing that anyone would try to say that Alt Tabing through various copies of the game chanting and BOing your own characters with your others is the way the game was meant to be played. If Blizzard interpereted the ToS this way, then everyone operating a second account in the same game would be banned. Or at the very least have their second account banned and be restricted to one. But that isn’t the case. In my discord and with the groups I ran with, I was almost the only person that didn’t have a loader. It was simply something EVERYONE did. One guy had 7, and still does. That’s how he made top 10 ladder. I haven’t heard of anyone getting banned for that. Again, I am not talking about automation, or botting, or maphack. I’m talking about Alt Tabbing to a BO barb, or chanter, to buff your other characters.

Hell, Blizzard has stated very clearly that if a person talks about cheating in this forum, it’s an instant ban. Yet, instructions on how to load multiple characters on the same computer are on this forum, and remain there for all to see.

Should I submit a ticket asking them about it?

What do you mean by “one is fine”.

Having a second computer is using the aid of hardware?! Closing the handle using process explorer is the use of software?

Perhaps its splitting hairs… I actually don’t like the idea of using loaders but I’d like to be able to compete, even if just a little bit. I’d rather play the game the way it was intended. I even have ideas that might discourage multiboxing/loading but it seems like selling extra copies of the game is better for business than controlling playstyles.

Blizzard customer support said so. If you have a problem with that, please feel free to open your own customer support ticket.

Key mirroring hardware/software is against the rules. Having two computers where each has a game client where all commands are entered separately on each computer is allowed.

I don’t have a problem with anything. I dont understand what you meant “one” is ok so I’m asking you to clarify what they said. Do you mean that they said having “one” computer runing multiple accounts is allowed as long as the commands are entered separately? Or does it have to be 2 separate computers? I just wasnt sure what the “one” was reffering to.

I asked explicitly about two computers.

The “one” that I was referring to is the multiboxing player, not the number of computers.

How would virtual machines apply to this argument? I think in windows 11 you can duplicate different virtual windows.

As far as I can tell though perhaps I messed it up. Hyper V does not work well with video games.

Or is this one of those “don’t ask don’t tell” things which they are happy to ignore becuase it sells more copies?

I think you hit the nail on the head there. Wish they’d just let us have /players online, but instead we’re forced to buy multiple accounts if we want more challenge. Really unfair, but it is what it is and I’ve purchased 2 additional accounts so I can at least get up to /p3. P1 is just way too boring/easy for endgame.

Lol you’re asking if shutting down a legitimate process that runs as part of d2 to check for other instances can be shut off?

Just curious what you think. Do you think that is altering the intended application of that process?

I mean it seems it would be to me. Other people cheat with 8 instance bots so can I do it too?

To be fair it was allowed in wow so idk if it’s expressly okay or not. You could open a support ticket and ask

I use 3 accounts with process explorer. You have to manually play each account, no automated clicks, not against tos

Wrong. 100% against ToS. Everything is against ToS for the most part. Will you ever be banned for it? I’m almost 100% sure nobody ever will be, but you cannot claim it isn’t against ToS doesn’t matter if you manually do it or not.

The day they add SSF ladder as the only ranking will fix 90% of this games problems.

When you read the EULA carefully, and extrapolate data as well from the differences in the Chinese version of the EULA, and THEN combine that with the statements made in the billing clauses of the EULA, you can safely conclude that multiboxing is legal - as long as it’s not done in a way to streamline multiboxing. That means that everything you do on any or all of your softwares or hardwares running each instance of the game, has to be manually controlled in such a way that it doesn’t provide you any specific in-game advantage over other players. Having numerous players and or the functionality of a 2nd or even 3rd character is fine. It’s when you utilize software that can control them all at the same time or automate in game functions that it becomes an issue.

The main concern is process explorer, which is questionable. I avoid it like the plague because of it for my multiboxing.

After HUNDREDS of hours of digging for blue posts, the ONLY blue posts I ever found in regards to the action of multiboxing were actually not from Diablo 2, but from Overwatch, where the moderator specifically stated that they will NEVER specify certain things in writing so they can leave it open to speculation.

I appreciate the detailed response. Like others have said in this thread, it’s whatever the flavor of the month is for Blizz.

Process explorer isn’t really outside software. It just allows you to turn off parts of the application. But i guess it would be open to interpretation.

Nah man. I think there is a legal way to do it. In fact I have an old video saved that says how to do it, but not sure if still works or is patched. It was 100% legit though if you bought two copies of the game. Process explorer is the way.

But its legit. Not many people see the problem. You can have multiple accounts in a single game for the sole benefit of getting that good loot. Meanwhile, streamers got it so easy they don’t need to bother. Then theres the average joe playing the game the way it was intended but getting pooped on because they don’t have 16 hours a day or the priveledge of a platoon of dedicated players assissting each other. Race through the ranks as advertised, more like the game is rigged so don’t bother.

People who suggest allowing /players online have negative brain cell count and IQ.
