Is this the behavior of a professional and respectable company?

For half a dozen hours over several days, you have seen thousands of players telling you that they cannot join games or create games. These players have taken time off from work, purchased your game, patiently waited for a solution and you cannot even provide a status update in terms of an ETA of when you will have a solution. I create a thread where 600 posts have been made over a few hours to tell you that all of us have our accounts locked out so we cannot create characters, create games, join games.

Is it the behavior of a respectable and professional company to ignore these accounts instead of mobilizing your employees to actively and manually correct these accounts?

I don’t post things purely out of frustration. if I were to behave like this to my customers ( I work in design consulting), I would not have my job very long. How is it that you think you can get away with this?

What is infinitely worse is you know about this problem. This is exactly the problem I had made posts about during the “open beta” over that one weekend in August.

Becuause half the forum population are blizz apologists that say stuff like:

“Its launch day relax”
“all launches are like this”
“qq more”
“you’re so entitled”

It will only get worse and worse.

refund my money blizzard i pay to PLAY

If they can’t fix the issue in an expected time why would they say they will? Even if they target the issue the solution may not work which leads to further delays.

They said they are working on some issues and thanking players for being patient. In comparison WoW was down for a Tuesday patch and the expected time got delayed two hours, people were fuming that Blizz ninja changed the expected time and they couldn’t play at the original appointed times.

Like it sucks I get it, no one wants these issues, I dislike how every online game can not launch correctly but it’s just how things are these days. I’m sure the team is also extremely upset having to run all over and find the errors.

This isn’t a pass to them, and I’m sorry many players don’t get to play to the full amount but I can’t expect or demand issues are just fixed like it’s making another burger at fast food.

these are old diablo 2 bugs, they cant fix them because nobody who worked on diablo 2 classic works at blizzard no more

This is kind of a colossal screw up with such a big game breaking bug making it past beta. It’s also why several players, including streamers, begged the devs to host a longer full game beta instead of two weekends with content people grow quickly bored of. You’re not going to see as many issues arise when the majority of the itemization isnt in game because you can’t get outside of act 2. And if players can’t test the items then blizz won’t draw more testers in to weed out these critical errors.

All they had to do was have a real beta and learn to prepare in advance.

This launch is bad. And everyone who worked on it should feel bad - for disappointing soooooo many players.

beta tests are just advertisements nowadays, nothing gets tested or fixed in them.
this issue has been in the game since 2000

They already have all the boomers money. They accomplioshed what they wanted. Sell a crappy old game back to the same people that bought it the first time.

I do think they should give more updates even if those updates are “we’re still working on resolving the issue. We will have another update in 1 hour” just because whether professionally or in personal life I tend to believe in over communication.

With that said I’ve also seen this blow up in video game studio’s faces because updating without a real update has another group saying they’re just “buying time” and should be “100% focused” (no joke on them thinking a Tweet costs more than 30 seconds).

I did fully expect opening weekend issues and it sucks for anyone who is having this “stuck in game” issue

They too busy working on Diablo Mobile, DONT YOU HAVE A DAMN PHONE?

it feels like they needed it out quick.

most of this wouldve been caught in a proper beta.

there’s not even a “windowed fullscreen” option and its 2021 LUL

also the game goes from smooth to choppy over time for me. gotta shut it down and start it again every few hours.

I see so many of these ‘just do this’ posts. All I can think of is the Simpson meme of the guy slapping his forehead saying ’ why didn’t I think of such a thing’. Like honestly everyone on these forums and gaming at large has one sentence solutions that professionals all across these companies couldn’t think up. Maybe poster 497 is right, just restart the servers and it’s fixed. Or another poster who said do an actual beta because that means their beta was fake or just done as a joke? Believe it or not lots of problems can arise going into live after beta testing.

Again I don’t know why every game company messes up their launches but it’s laughable when forum posters just go ‘ez fix, do this.’

Yeah, Blizz’ Q3 numbers must have looked terrible, so they had to set and meet an ambitious deadline to beat the buzzer before 9/30.

Might be good for the bottom line, but it doesn’t do a thing for your reputation.

But, as I learned in business, if you don’t meet your sales goals, you’ll get fired in a year. If you don’t meet your profit goals, you’ll get fired in a quarter.

This proves to all of us what we already knew: it ain’t game aficionados managing the development of D2R, it’s the suits…

I never saw crap server im my life!!! this game cant live longer with so many bugs
