This get very old and annoying real fast. With all the adverts and crap in the launcher it gets very annoying as well. The devs should add a command line switch. If you’ve seen the cinematic intros at least 5 times and don’t want to bother with them, then we should be able skip all together without needing to click or flood the keyboard buffer. The launcher is required and should be more than enough. Time is money and precious. D3 got this right. Please consider adding a way to skip the intro’s completely.

Wow you need to push a button 2 times to skip them. It like 2 seconds longer then whitout it. Such advantege, much speed, Woooow.

I agree. Too many things to click past just to play a game. Even after you launch it you need to baby sit it to then click again to connect to battle net. Wait I thought I was already connected to battle net b/c of the launcher. It’s just annoying.

It’s possible in offline single-player only via mod.
As far as I know (unless they’ve changed it since the last time I looked), it’s not currently possible in online. They didn’t give us an option to skip them.

/skip2bnet would take us directly to Battle.net login with the original game.
Great looking intro and all, but after the last hundred times clicking to skip it, I’ll agree, we need a way to /skipintro.
Less/no clicks skipping to the menu, more clicks for Baals face.

Mod.
Previously had tried a mod, skipped 2scene.
If you use a controller you cant skip it until the 3rd screen, you have to use the keyboard/mouse first, very annoying honestly.
There is NO chance to use a mod to skip the intro scenes without violating the license agreement for the game or some other rules imposed by Blizzard. No thanks. The devs need to implement a skip mechanism.
The reasoning for implementing a skip mechanism is sound. It would be a QoL feature. D3 got this right. One does not launch a game to see an introduction that has already been viewed thousands of times before. So when launching the game I wish to be brought directly into the game. Once in the game a button can be added to RE-VIEW the intro videos.
Lastly, you are wrong. Its not 2 skips it is a total of 3. Skip Blizz Entertainment/North. Skip the D2R logo ignition, and then press any key to begin. The prompt at the end lingers until a key is pressed before bringing the player to game (I rechecked). Let’s launch and enter the game versus the intro trailers.
maybe the -skiptobnet command works for dr2 too?

nexusmods has something that skips them all, but I haven’t tried it.

You revealed that Resurrected is getting modding support – can you tell us a bit more about what that entails?
CL: One of the things that has kept Diablo 2 alive is the modding community – so we appreciate all the work they have put into the game over the years. I think we can split this into two separate categories.
There have been mods in the past that injected code straight into the game, and those are the kind of things that we cannot support. But all the other mods – you know, the ones that use data and that sort of thing – we love to see those.
As we’ve gone through the game, we’ve switched a lot of things that used to be hardcoded into data. So when it comes to that [data] side of modding, there should be more things available and they’ll be easier to access.

Simply deleting cinematics is not injecting code, thus an approved mod. This is also why item filters are approved.

U will be only violating the ToS/EULA if u got online with it. In offline mod to your hearts content.
Last patch notes blizzard also added updated coding for people making mods.
Please do ur research before spouting off false fact. Offline modding has been confirmed.

Ok. 2 seconds for the logos. And a couple more when waiting for login. And it’s an authentic experience, I don’t mind that stayed.
Its fine that you like the authentic experience, hence the reason for a skip mechanism to be added. There is a difference between asking for a skip mechanism and asking for a feature of the game to be removed. I’m guessing you missed that distinction. I’m asking for the former not the latter.
