Ive been farming rares from both and Ive done it maybe 300 times and Ive never had an item roll over level 60, 95% of the time its level 48 or lower even though it says they are level 80 and 81 in hell. Has anyone ever had luck farming GG rares from these 2?
I’ve found a jah off of shenk. No super high end uniques though.
Wdym gg rares?
Shako? Occy? Vmagi? sure I’ve got those.
Fathom? Dweb? COA? not possible.
Edit: Meph/Andy/Shenk/Eldrich are good easy early game farming spots when you’re looking for build up gear. Later in the game you need to move on to higher level areas and monsters.
Im talking about rare items lol like Viso helms,fools weapons etc ones that are actually relly hard to acquire…not unique items that have a crappy drop chance but are all over the place.Im talking about the Affixes though,i get around 4 rares per “run” with these two and ive ID’s at least 900 rares and no affix on them was actually good lol
No, they drop garbage but I’ve found hrs off them. Of course, can be found anywhere really
Why not farm Pindle?
I do farm pindle every now and then, its just faster way to get rare items with eldritch and shenk
Ohhh i got you. For those items you’d have to make sure that the mobs around shenk/eldrich have a high enouigh lvl as well as shenk/eldrich. I think they actually both have the potential maybe, but I am not sure.
Edit: you say you’ve found no mods that were actually good. Like no trash armor with +viso? Like getting a rare item to come perfectly together even to be 4 mods that go well is extremely hard given the possiblities.
so kind of, I mean no mods that are good combined. I may find a fools mod weapon but they never have over like 100ish ed, the max ed Ive found was around 240 without fools, viso with really crap stats.I just dont know if they are crap due to there level. I find decent rares in the pits often and the rare item drops in the pits are 1/10th i find from shank and eldritch.its just a consistancy for a decvent mod to roll followed by just crap.even in pits I might find a 300 ed 40 ias weapon but from those 2 its maybe 40 ias with really low ed.I actually only spend my time on this game rare hunting and literally identify every rare item I run across in hell. its the consistency of the bad mods are not like they are in the pits.i guess its hard to explain.its almost as if there level lets them roll 40 ias but it somehow negates there chances of anything else good rolling.its a very consistent types of rolls when these things roll on the rares they drop.Ive actually noticed a pattern with what rolls high makes a different mod roll low and it goes back and forth to the point if I see a 40ias on a weapon I can almost accurately guess what range its ED will be
So there are cool rares in the game, but they’re insanely lucky finds because what you’re relying on is a bunch of mods coming together properly for that type of item.
Let’s just take one example. A fools mod, ED, IAS, Eth, Repair, weapon with whatever other good stat. If it doesn’t have all of those on the right weapon type with good rolls, there is simply just grief, where you manage to get a set of runes and a common base and have stats that dominate that weapon. So yeah finding god tier rares is hard.
Honestly though going through trav w/ a MF/GF barb, horking, then using the gold to gamble is probably the best chance of a very rare/good find.
I think your right,I can just see by the mods I get on pit ran items is just way better.I dont have “consistent” drops lol. Meaning yeah sometimes they suck but sometimes they have good all around mods unlike shenk who is consistent with a decent mod always followed by junk.I know it sounds like they whole its RNG but I can see a pattern of the types of mods to expect if something rolls high.Its almost like a strange phenomenon
There are also some limitations you’d want to ask someone smarter than me on if this is your main goal when you’re farming.
- Can shenk/eldrich drop all the mods necessary for what I’m trying to get
- Can shenk/eldrich even drop the bases I desire these mods on.
I’m not certain of either one way or the other tho
I did a while ago, like what mods require what levels and stuff but I never got the answer to combined mods like if a 270+ed fools weapon actually only can roll like that if its in somewhere like the pits due combined high rolls and monster levels. I ask these questions so Im not wasting my time with shenk and eldritch lol. which im on my pit runs again
Pits can drop anything, probably better to farm there overall anyway. You might not get the super rare rare you’re looking for but some other cool stuff might come your way.
Yeah Ive done the pits endlessly, before I wiped my players I had 3 DW’s,couple wf’s unid,hr’s,griffons from the pits and the funny thing is I asked people if they wanted them items before hand and nobody replied lol
