Is Mana Regen boost broken? Barb build

Got a lev 18 Barbarian. Ordinary mana regen 1 point per 10 seconds. Add helm with 2 perfect skulls, 38% mana regen boost. 1 mana regen point in…10 seconds. Shouldn’t that be reduced to 6/7 seconds per point? If not, what is mana regen boost doing?

Regenerate Mana % increases the rate at which a player character regenerates mana:

Mana regenerated per second = 25 * [ [256 * Maximum Mana / (25*120) ] * (100 + Regenerate Mana) /100] /256

Thats the forumula. Mana regen is based on max mana as well. So if you had 60 MAX Mana. Then the values would be
0% Mana Regen = 0.5 mana/s
38% Mana Regen - 0.69 mana/s

So no 38% wouldn’t cut it by 3s, 100% mana regen with 60 max mana would regenerate 1 mana/s

2 players with 0 mana regen, one with 400 and one with 1000 mana would go from empty to max in the exact same amount of time.

It should, but doesn’t. So using your formula, my barbarian WITHOUT his regen helmet should generate 0.175 mana per second (max mana of 21), with the helmet it should increase to 0.2415 per second. Instead, it is staying at 1mp per 10 seconds, with our without the helmet. I’ve tested it with a stopwatch for 40 mana regen, in different areas (inc town) with no change in mana regen time.

Can easily be a rounding issue as your dealing with extremely small numbers.

Is it also affected by class? So my little barb has 21 mana, and regen at 38%. I think (based on formula) it should be much higher. Even without gear, he regenerates 1 mana per 10 seconds (way off formula amount) and with gear, identical time. What mana/second do you think he should make? Thanks for assist

Class does not affect it, Only Max Mana and Mana Regen. All Classes with 0% mana regen should regenerate their entire mana pool in roughly 120seconds regardless of how big or small it is. Smaller mana pools and small amount of Mana regen can be subject to rounding.
