As Toro said, yes it is possible but the odds are terrible.

Maxroll’s site has a gamble calculator you can use, very useful. Your best odds for gambling a SoJ is 1:62,000 at levels 44-48. Pretty abysmal.

Complement of information…

When gambling, there is a 1/2000 chance for an unique item (no mf used here)
If you got one, then you have to get to SoJ who has a rarity of 1. If you are lvl 84+, the chance is then 1/59 of being a SoJ. SoJ is an ilvl 39 ring and when gambling, the ilvl you get is +/- 5 your level so the best odd are at lvl 44 with 1/31 chance of being a SoJ.
Together, 1/2000 x 1/31 = 1/62000.

I’ve been running my gold barb, which has over 2100% gold find, and can fill all the shared stahses in a handful of runs. I’ve bought thousands of rings. No uniques yet

Possibly. But yeah. No better than farming normally.

but it’s not an optimal strategy

i gambled a Mara’s once, but it looks like it’s twice more common than soj. And IMO gambling amulets is overall more useful than rings

can be a bid daunting for a new player, tell me which class you want to go with and I’ll suggest what stats you need so you are at least in the ball park and won’t have to worry about it too much :slight_smile:

Gambling is the only way Ive ever gotton a Soj outside of trading. Ive only Gambled one ever btw.

funny story:

I was gambling for fcr rings once and got caught up selling them back a little too quickly. Accidentally sold a soj right back to merchant immediately after gambling it. Lol.

In spite of stories where someone gets really lucky, gambling is mainly efficient only on a gf barb doing trav and gambling for circlets/tiaras as you can get a good rare skiller helm that has value. In other categories you really need to get uniques and that is 1:2000 chance per gamble. Rings and amulets, maybe. You can get rare skiller ammies but they aren’t worth a ton. Both are less efficient than circlets in terms of value in v. value out so there is no reason to do anything else.

I got a 21 maras off my fourth amulet purchase while gambling. Stone of Jordan is definitely doable
