Hi,
I just wanted to ask if having an Infinity for your mercenary and using Lightning/Chain Lightning is the best possible build? I saw someone completely wrecking Hell Diablo/Baal and all the lightning immune/non-lightning immune minions all by himself basically. Right now I’m using Frozen Orb/Firewall and I have trouble even doing Mephisto runs by myself (Stygian Dolls slay me every time, even with mercenary). Is Infinity/Lightning the best build?

Other then that it is considered to be equal (or nearly equal) to a decked out hammerdin with enigma
(Although i find light sorc to be more fun playing)
Try to get 105 fast caster rate. It is easy to teleport around then.
I run a blizz sorc without an infinity and have no problem running hell baal or diablo in pretty decent time.

yes… lightning is the way…
but aside from the infinity, you need enough + skills to push that lightning damage so high that everything melts.
Also… something that i’ve stumbled upon recently (or re-learned about), is if you put 1 into energy shield and 10-12 hard points into telekenesis (or more if you want. up 2 you, fool around with it) and put more stats into energy for a nice big mana pool… you’re survivability goes waaaay up. some people complain “but my mana goes to zero and i can’t teleport away.” well… if you happen to have %damage goes to mana… you should of gotten a refund of mana- enough to teleport out. OR… worst case scenario → drink a rejuv potion and keep porting away. either way… it’s a win-win and ES saved you where others would of died.
and i think, maybe, energy shield with big mana pools fit into the whole lightning theme i think…
idk… test it out. i know i’ll be fooling with it more… but for now… i have frosties, 1x soj, silkweave, and i got about 1400 mana and 812 hp (stacked +life charms)- but that’s without a CTA though… so keep that in mind. and honestly… wow do i really really REALLY like it… it has smoothed out the damage intake sooooooo much and has made me so much more tankier.
and my mana doesn’t drop all, that much really… it did once… but then i popped a rejuv and continued on my way. again… it’s a win-win.

yes IF u wear frosties and 1 or 2 soj low ES is a dope opt.
I dunno if it’s the best build, but i do know it is the most expenaive build you will ever be getting for sorc.
I want to get an Infinity so I can melt even harder with a pure Fire build. I miss my old Fireball / Meteor sorceress. Even though it was 18 years ago and all I did was Meph / Pindle / Shenk / Eldritch, I still loved that build so much…
hate those dolls more than a5 souls… just make sure not to kill em when they are up in front of u.
asides from that light sorc/inf merc kills most essential pvm in the game
