I have never owned an infinity. I finally own all of the components to make one, but will not reward myself with that luxury until my OG launch day necromancer (level 98.2) reaches level 99.
HOWEVER… I do have a level 90 nova sorc.
When I play multiplayer, nova sorc is the most OP class IMO, next to mosaic assassin.
This is where I am lost.
My level 90 nova sorc, with an inventory stacked with lightning skillers, griffons eye, crescent moon etc…
She is pretty good on p1, but she is NOT solo p8 material.
Does infinity turn her into a solo p8 monster?
And if that’s the case… I hate to say it but is infinity a big part of the OP caster problem?
Yes
Spirit shield
Crescent moon sword
Skin of the viper mahi
Frostburns
Rare boots with 30% light/poison res, 20%frw, 25%mf
Arachs mesh
Tals adjudication ammy
2 fcr rings with resists
Lightning sunder and a pack full of lightning skillers, + anni.
Well…. I think I might know why everyone is complaining about the game being too easy.
I see these nova sorcs RIP through the chaos sanctuary almost as fast as my necro can run behind them.
There’s no way my girl is doing that. And the main ingredient she’s missing is infinity.
yes… yes it is…
its not even close.
it had been 10+ years since i bothered to get an infinity
i got one this season and i basically 1 shot the entire screen.
yes… it will make her solo p8…
but not only that… it will make her solo p8 easier than u were already clearing p1…
im going to be honest… the day i got my inifity… i played for like 20 min… and then haven’t booted d2 up again…
Some of this stuff just needs to go, honestly.
Then again I’ve never used one, so im not spoiled by it. Some people might be really attached to it.
One thing I dislike about infinity aside from it being OP- it destroys both the paladins and necromancers usefulness in reducing enemy resistances.
I really dislike when items perform the role of an entire support class.
Edit: I actually had someone in a multiplayer lobby tell me to stop casting lower resist, “amp damage only pls”, cause infinity was already taking everything down to -100 lol.
its not a matter of chaning the trajectory, im fine with any change to trajectory that good
This one was abosultely bad and total garbage paired with synergies
Thats why my mod not only removes passive immunities but also reowrked the whole synergy system to instead of being a Pigeonhole mechanic its a specialisation mechanic
It might’ve been someone else if it was a year ago. I asked about what the best base was back in august.
At the time I believe I only had 1 ber rune…. But I have both now. The reason i haven’t made it yet is because I feel like once I do, I won’t want to play my necromancer as much for a period of time. So I’ve decided to make infinity the reward for my necromancer reaching 99
And then I’ll make her my main for a good while
Yes! Like call to arms. Although, I haven’t considered picking on CtA. Prolly cause getting battle orders from a REAL barbarian is still very much appreciated, even if you have your own lol
Infi is fix for syn+immune mechanic, problem is its very end game item so ppl just farmed some locations by specialized builds (mostly Sorcs) or just made HDin.
Enigma is fix for Tele problem, but still high end game item.
to play in relaxic mode and have a fun ppl have to get very end game items, its huge mistake Imo.
Thanks! Yeah this will likely be the only character I get to 99. It’s such a slog, and chasing terror zones is getting to be a pain lol.
Only doing it cause he’s my first character, and my favourite class.
Before they nerfed the sunder charms, no. After nerfing sunder charms, infinity is as required as it ever was for lit builds and mandatory for cold and fire builds.
You can thank people complaining about specifically cold builds on a sorc for this too. There are more sorc builds than cold. There are more cold builds than just sorc, but people cried their eyes out over how it was “too easy” for cold sorc to be strong with a cold sunder charm. Now nothing about elemental builds has changed and an infinity merc is hard required to optimize every elemental damage build.
the amusing … read: annoying … part was: Those crybabies were as vocal as they were bad at math. People who actually did some calculations started out with a cold build (as before) and later transitioned into a lightning (or fire) build (also as before). Why? Because even with CM working at 100% against sundered enemies, lightning was still stronger with high end equipment.
Admittedly, cold was even stronger as a ladder starter back then, but it still couldn’t compete against the other two trees as end-game builds since it was still too weak.
