I feel like I see a lot of people talking about how they play HC, but I only ever see like 5 games at a time in hell and rarely see a Baal run game. Do people only play solo/private in HC?

The single biggest issue for many is loading screens… other than that it’s alive and well unless… you’re not?

Game is unstable still. You can die during loading screens. 90% of aura items in the game are bugged. Why would I bother with hardcore with a game in this state?

in hell diff, sometimes a see a bunch of games. sometimes i see 3. a lot of it has to do with lobby issues I suspect. Ive seen a long list of games and then it suddenly poofs and only 2 are on the list. normal always seems like its poppin off. NM is dead cause its NM.
that being said, the games i see are primarily trades, but you can find active pub mf runs, baal runs are rarer. probably a lot of priv games running. fear of getting PKd at high lvl is real.

I can understand that. Is there somewhere you can find the private games to get in on?
Why would anyone play hardcore before a ladder or season?

I want the achievement on Xbox for reaching 99 on a HC char…I want to do that before everyone moves into ladder and I have to start all over again
Maybe they are all playing single player since the mobs get tougher with larger group sizes. Tougher mobs make it easy to die. On softcore mobs will one shot your character in hell mode playing solo sometimes if you aren’t kiting all day or wearing the best gear for a cookie cutter build.

I’m part of an HC discord but don’t remember exactly what its called atm. can probably find it with a pub server search. (dude named Jigs is the admin) you’ll find people setting up priv games in there sometimes.

I tend to play SSF quite a bit. Just more of a time thing than anything else.
As of right now what is the difference? We have everything pre-ladder that D2 had.
Can vouch for it. Good server if you’re active. I just don’t wasn’t playing/interacting enough to stay in the server in my mind.

You’d have to be a particular kind of masochist to play HC in D2R’s current design.
Seriously, I admire people who play this way, but TBH, this clunky design doesn’t deserve your loyalty and dedication…

I want to say it was D2 Hardcore but I honestly don’t remember.
I honestly forgot I even left the server o.O
I mean SC nightmare at 3am i saw 7 join able games…
Safe to say the game is pretty dead overall.
Its more or less lots of solo players farming items in hell for pretty much no reason other than to farm more items.
PVP community is non existant I havent seen a single mid or low level dueling game.
there are much less hardcore players than softcore players. but the hardcore players are deadset on playing hardcore forever - no matter the state of the game / risks involved.
once you taste the adrenaline you cant go back. id uninstall if i was forced to play softcore.

Unfortunately I have a group of people I work with who play D2R and we all get along but… play SC only. So I am now balancing my playtime on 3 characters - HC Online, HC Offline, and SC Online ><;

Hardcore is played mostly in private games. Usually the games that are public are full and thus invisible
