I’m a Firewall/Orb sorceress and I didn’t know it was bugged when I respec’d to it from Meteorb. Now I’m out of respecs. It’s probably not going to happen but it would be really nice if they gave us a free respec if they are going to change Firewall damage. Does that make sense?
I guess they didn’t do it when they ninja fixed the Cold Mastery breaking cold immunity, so it probably won’t happen. Just feel bad that I used up my respecs to do a build and then find out they might reduce the damage. When they reduce the damage it will also be harder to kill the bosses, so it will be harder to get a Token of Absolution
I guess the time is now to kill the bosses and get a token before they change things. Or I guess I could trade for one.

I don’t think it’s bugged per se, but I think in the 24fps base to 60 fps base transition, it suddenly started to tick at 60fps rather than its original 24 (you can see it’s ticking too fast, compared with regular/old D2, I can only imagine it’s due to the FPS coding). That’s why it does like 2.3x more damage/faster damage than it used to, because the ticks were tied to FPS. At least I think so, anyway. As to the fix? Maybe they don’t even fix it. Or maybe they do. Idk, guess we just gotta wait and see.
Or maybe it was always meant to do this much and this fast damage with such relatively little investment. Who knows

Free respecs… You get a free respec for each difficulty and then in hell you can farm up all the respecs you could possible want. Just play the game…

Most people just make more characters for different builds, but it is possible to respec outside of the Act I quest reward. But this requires a special drop from four of the act bosses (Either andy or duriel plus the other three). And in all honesty, i’ve never seen these items drop (or if they did drop, they were picked up too quick)
I actually just got an essence from Andariel yesterday, so it does happen.
Don’t know if its a bug, i think its more like a system change, as SuperCuddles has pointed out. But i have seen videos testing side by side and the dmg is considerable faster.
Yeah, I know. I should have probably been more careful with my respecs. I’m new to the game so I used them all up quickly.
If you can farm Hell boss’s its not the end. I play solo and they drop pretty regularly for me

I can kill Andariel really easy. I have problems farming Mephisto because of the Stygian Dolls. They kill my merc really easy and then I don’t have the protection.
I haven’t tried to solo Diablo or Baal.

Ive found that once you attained the 63 breakpoint it become possible to teleport safely so you can skip them.
Hitting the 105 is when stuff becomes way easier. The chances of being hit and being put into hit recovery drops dramatically.
My fcr is really really low. Someone told me that fcr doesn’t effect Orb or Firewall, so I stopped using it. I guess it is worth it for teleport?
Whoever told you FCR doesnt effect orb and firewall clearly doesnt understand how D2 works.
FCR wont affect the coolddown of abilities but it affects the animation of the spell against mobs. The game works on frames. So when you reach breakpoints the spell animation speeds up.

They supposedly coded the game to work with the original 25 fps game ticker.

So take teleport the rate at which you can teleport is affected by the frames of the game. Lower the frames the quicker you can cast the ability.
With spells like blizzard or firewall you cant get around the cool down of the spell however its animation and how quickly it hits mobs speeds up.
As a sorceress your first aim is to achieve the 63 break-point but you should be aiming for the 105 break-point.
Also something about breakpoints. You only need to HIT the breakpoint. There is zero benefit going over the breakpoint unless you can attain the next level. So keep that in mind.
There are heaps of streamers that have explained FCR (faster Cast Rate) FHR (Faster Hit Recovery) and FBR (Faster Block Rate) i suggest you have a watch as these three things will dicate the success of your character.

So you are able to solo the five bosses? Would you mind telling me your skills? I’m thinking of respecing to something other than Firewall/Orb (especially if they reduce Firewall damage). I saw someone really awesome who was using Infinity and Lightning/Chain Lightning.

Isn’t that the very definition of a bug? Doesn’t that make FW like 40% stronger? But on the plus side, it actually makes Fire viable.

Im currently a level 89 Cold (blizzard) Sorceress.
As it currently stands I can easily solo all content in D2R on hell difficulty. As you can see from my gear below i dont have anything special at all. All common mid lvl gear
Ive completed all quests. If i encounter a cold immune I either run or i let my merc wreck them.
