Is Faster block rate useless at 2.4 anymore?

hey guys,
as you know that a game play change came with 2.4 about blocking;

“Blocking will no longer interrupt a player while performing a skill or attack. If a player character triggers a block during this time, the damage will still be negated, but the animation will not play”

so faster block rate is meanless anymore?

“When the character makes a successful block, they must perform a full blocking animation before they can do anything else, Faster Block Rate will reduce the length of this delay.”

so why did they changed some items gives us FBR like ryhm, sheal at shield, SS, guardian angel etc.

Pretty much and to certain degree so is FHR.

Really wrong changes that they made.
Dumbed down the game by a lot.

They might revert it. They need the feedback for it but not mindless like “OMG the game is dead now bla bla bla” but with clues etc. I dont care for PVP at all but for those who care, they need to provide the right feedback.

basically as long as you are casting block animation doesnt exist and fbr is useless

Well actually you will block, but the animation will not trigger, if you are useing an attack animation. Basicly you will not be interupted. So you can build for FBR, and you’ll block whitout an animation, when preforming an attack. When you just walk around the animation will trigger.

For most games, a perfect balance patch is impossible.

However, we did our best to accommodate and reflect the opinions of users.

In particular, in the case of mmorpg in Korea, a test server is always operated, and feedback on balance is actively exchanged and reflected in the main game server.

See our d2r.

Now that the developers reflected the FHR diminishing effect in d2r only with the feeling they got from wow, the equally balanced balance between the characters has collapsed.

The game is no longer fun, and hunting is very easy.

This is no one’s fault, but the charm of d2r has been greatly halved.

At least I hope this balance patch is not the end. Also, please actively review the mistakes of the developers and return them to the 2.3 version of FHR and FBR.

D2R’s long-standing inability to act has been dealt with by raising the FHR and FBR as much as possible to the frame requirements.

Thanks to the developers who have never played PVP, the fun of users who enjoyed PVP was stolen.

is that working just walk/run movement? are you sure? so teleporting is a casting that will be easy to play. so we can say “max. block + zero FBR soso with tp” will not interrupt about blocking. maybe she will just interuppted with lost 1/12+ life. just it?

No interuption whit block animation when casting. Block will trigger, but the animation will not.

Hard to say without devs explaining it but i dont think so. I will explain how i understand it.

They removed animation effect when you already perform attack, but blocking still proc in backround and faster block rate should still result in blocking more attacks.

This is also a correct answer.

But it is definitely buff to anyone using block across to board because block no longer stops your attack.

Yupp i’m building a fire Druid whit block instead of lots of vit. I’m figureing out a good balance between block rate and vit.

Definetly. Specialy for melee whit shield. So mostly pali. But now more builds will use shields and build for block.

this is not block animatio, this is hit recovery animation

Totally agree! As i remember it people wanted some balance to skills and quality of life changes here and there, but no one ask to dumb down the game lmao. This changes were not necessary and is killing the unique mechanics of d2…

Faster block Rate and faster hit recovery are two very important aspects of the diablo world, and the game’s balance relies heavily on them. a caster should be vulnerable to someone pounding their face in, they are NOT a tank. they SHOULD suck at blocking if they arent a class meant to use shields(such as a zon using a sword having super slow block rate, zons dont use swords.) so this change has to be undone. I used to pvp a lot, then i went pvm. I did get a solid 7 laughs in on this though, it’s sort of a karmic justice for all the people who join public games to kill players who are just trying to play the game without pvp. I think what they should add is a game option to completely disable pvp in your game. meaning nobody can go hostile in your game. this would prevent griefing caused by pk’ers who suck so they prey on easy targets.

yes, you suck at dueling/pk if you go to an open public pvm game and kill them. I had a bvc with 10k health, an hdin runnin baals was easy as 2 ww’s due to not being geared for pvp.

Fury druid with stormshield max block now a thing?

looking forward to not being stuck in block animation

Yupp. Tank wolf and tank whatever
