I’ve encountered a strange issue. Every time I level up and increase the “Iron Skin” skill, it reduces approx. 30 points from my total Defense. I’m playing on Switch, but the same thing happened while playing the original D2: LoD on PC… Seems like a bug from the original codebase?.. I’m not using shouts or any magic. What on earth is going on?.. Just moments ago I leveled up, checked my Defense - 624. I increased “Iron Skin” by one and now my Defense is 596… It happened at least 4 times now. What’s really interesting is that I tried to Reset Skills at Adria and everything seemed to work fine. But right after that when I leveled up again and increased “Iron Skin”, it reduced “Defense” again.
I’m suspecting it’s also decreasing my minimum and maximum attack damage by 1 or 2 every time I increase the “Iron Skin” skill…
Update.
Aand it happened again. I was out of town, Act 3, leveled up, added 1 to “Iron skin” and saw my Defense going down from 693 to 630… I was playing D2: Resurrected on PC this time. Looks like this is affecting all platforms, including the original Diablo II: Lord of Destruction…

Welp, this has my interest. My main char is a ww barb. Haven’t noticed what you’re describing but also I wasn’t looking for that. Have swapped armors quite a bit so hard for me to keep track of what my value is. However I have noticed my dmg being randomly less. Not by much, 1-3 maybe. Didn’t notice it after leveling iron skin though. Fwiw I also play on switch.

The only other thing I was able to find. The op initially says ar but meant def. That thread isnt really helpful. Interesting it hasn’t come up much in 20yrs

Okay found one other thing
Where you in town when you added the skill point? Maybe it resets the buff when you add a point and maybe it doesn’t become active again until you’re out of town? Thats the best I can think of and no way to be sure without having tested it. Might be similar to how your merc auras aren’t active in town.

I’m having the same problem. It’s definitely a bug. This is maybe the third time it’s happened. Thought I was imagining things the first couple times. What a ridiculous bug.

Hello, it just happened to me also . I was in act 3 normal , single player . In town I increased iron skin . From 300 defence with 15% chance to get hit by a flying scimitar it went to 285 def / 16% . So i went online and i found this post only . Thank you.
