iPhone Hotspot Help

Don’t come at me about this not being the Classic forum, I know that. I’m asking here for a few reasons–that forum is dead and this forum I know has a few tech savvy regulars.

I’ve been successfully connecting to legacy bnet using an iPhone 6 hotspot for many years now, and still can.

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 13, but with this phone’s hotspot I cannot connect to bnet. When I switch the sim card back into the iPhone 6 it connects to bnet no problem.

I’ve tried all the standard suggestions–software is updated, restarted both devices etc. I am not using a vpn, and with the hotspot I connect to the internet flawlessly.

I thought I’d ask here before I submit a ticket.

Any suggestions?

or simply check if your crapple device No13 doesn’t block UDP ports in it’s internal firewall, as far as i remember old bnet uses certain both TCP and UDP ports, and all nessecary need to be open in order for the 'ol bnet to run properly. i don’t remember the ports out of memory, try googling the nessecary ports to acces classic battle net for diablo2 LoD,

as a general rule of thumb most modern devices have a policy to block all UDP traffic in general…

DNS would be my first thought. The newer phone likely has a setting called “private DNS” or something like that, which may need to be disabled/changed.

That was only for TCP/IP games (like warcraft 2 BNE, diablo 1 and maybe starcraft). Diablo 2 bnet doesn’t require any port forwarding for closed bnet.

It also seems like a DNS issue to me
