Invisible Monster Attacks

Well, that’s a dramatic title, but not a wholly accurate one. Since the patch I have noticed what I would have put down to a sort of lag affect impacting certain monsters. Good examples are the Claw Vipers in Act 2.

Suddenly you are being hit (hard in those cases). but BEFORE the monster is actually rendered next to you. Somehow, their attacks are going off before there movement is being rendered. As you can imagine, this is a serious issue, but even more so for a hardcore player like me. Taking damage from an invisible source that I can visually locate a half second later makes positioning that much more difficulty and risky on higher difficulty levels.

Notice I said sort of when mentioning lag. I put it that way because nothing in the game was lagging. I am on a fiber connection and when these issues occur my latency was averaging 30ms.

Hopefully this gets rapid attention.

Cheers.

I’ve had it with different enemies - Cows, Fallen and Venom Lord types seem to be the most common in my experience. Usually I have no idea wtf is hitting me until it suddenly rubberbands right next to me. The odd thing is that it only seems to be one monster at a time that has this effect, the rest of the stuff on screen actually is located where it looks like it is.

Now that you mention it, yes. I’ve noticed that as well. I assumed only one was in range, but if this is consistent maybe that’s more than a random factor.

This was a common issue in d2 as well. It’s desync issues.
