Here is a new melee Theory Craft set for dreaming; primary concept to create a set based on like-named items such as “Battle”, “Great” etc.

Weapon sucks so the whole set sucks. Otherwise it would be op for pvp simply for the completely ridiculous -120% target defense, magic sorb, and wep block. This set would only work for ww since you would be able to block without being interrupted. that means you’re just gonna still run a griefb with an offhand that has no weapon mastery points since all 1h maces are cheeks for ww.

Weapon block only works with claws and on the assassin sprite only (a sin transforming werebear loses weapon block) so it would have to be recoded.

Posts like this make me so glad they will never add new items to the game.

I made some adjustments to the original, including adding a second weapon (It works with concept of “battle” items also) to prevent using grief. Though, still debating about this.

Negative target defense is not overly powerful in PVP IMO. It is halved for PVP penalty. High level battle cry provides comprable negative target defense and it does not function to “always hit” even with very high AR, which this set does not provide.

Weapon block would provide around 50% block rate, vs 75% using a shield; a nice buff, but not impenetrable.

Double swing is also uninterruptible? Though, Its not about being able to block uninterrupted while attacking, but having some block chance, in general, such as while running.

Is it too OP to have weapon block, 25% cold or magic absorb, and better chance to hit target, while having damage not comparable to the infamous Grief?

I already told you weapon block doesn’t work on anything but an assassin with claws. You would have to recode the game. Weapon block can also block spells. So yes 50% weapon block while holding a grief is OP.

Good luck casting battle cry in pvp. You’ll die before the animation is over. Also, Battle cry SUBTRACTS FROM ENEMY DEFENSE%. So a player with 3000% defense against a battle cry that removes 100% defense will have 2900% defense. So yes -120% target defense is op because it’s total % reduction (paladin with 30k defense now has 7,500 defense which a melee pvper can easily overcome). Especially because you can just also chuck a edeath cleaver in your main hand which is already a good pvp weapon for just having -33% target defense. This also throws off the whole established dynamic of melee vs melee pvp that requires uber rare rare weapons with fools and what not to bypass the crazy defenses players can stack against each other.

There is no %magic absorb items in the game. It would be OP because it pretty much makes the set bonus mandatory for pvp while also only realistically being used for barbs.

Like i said, this set is OP for pvp but poo for pve. It doesn’t help barbarians there either because this set would be banned in pvp.

Why is it a sword and a mace? That won’t be good for the mastery.

Two different weapon class because it is a “battle” sword and “battle” hammer, for “battle” item set. Could have went with “battle” axe but decided not to due to it being normal and the others exceptional. To me, it seems funner having two different weapon types rather than two of the same.

Multiple mastery actually works fine; especially if using mastery charms.
The set is also not entirely for barbarian. Any melee can use it for partial bonuses, including open mastery skill.

With that in mind, Ive increased the total mastery bonus ( knowing barb will only get 5 each )

who actually does that (having “endgame” in mind)?
