I would like to be able to use some mods that modify some things in the interface
Is there a problem with having these mods and playing with characters in online mode?

Yes, it’s bannable.
Mods are only allowed in Offline mode.
You should ask the PVP community (discords, etc) if any of them have been banned for using interface mods. They would most likely be able to tell you how risky it is.
PvP community doesn’t work with interface mods. They work with overlays, like it’s customary for streamers
