I would like to see what happens. Maybe an A.I. Mephisto chat bot. Or some type of entanglement.
Blizzard won’t even move Cain next to the stash in Act 5… So it’s fairly safe to say implementing any modern AI into Diablo won’t happen.

When creating music, sometimes, less is better. You don’t want everyone to be fully playing mega solo giga chad mode because it turns into clutter. I don’t like the idea of implementing AI just to implement AI.
However, this could be an excellent resource addition to the game for things like “can I make x runeword in nonladder?” And all sorts of others like game mechanics, recipes, item/monster stats, etc.
I am dreaming of an AI hireling that can adapt to my playstyle…
“AI”, like this suggestion, is garbage.
it was made from from billion dollar companies stealing the works of artists and others. without credit or compensation.
and it spits out garbage.
there is no “AI” there are companies trying to sell you on the “next big thing” because they stupidly spent money on crap no one wants, and now are trying to make a market for it by trying to pretend it can do sh*t it can’t.

While a lot of the hype is greatly overblown, AI actually has some proper uses, as long as you know what it can be good at (it’s indeed a really bad idea to use it as a means to provide info to the players, as AI has a strong tendency to give erroneous information).
There could be work done on mercenaries, so that they are way more intelligent, for example.

the concept of AI adoption is soley for the purpose of controling everything through a centralized system which would fall into the hands of a select few… do not let AI replace human function simply bc you cant go backwards,

Not sure why you responded to me with that. But that’s roughly accurate, after all Blizzard is a publicly traded for-profit business.
I was responding to OP but quoted your statement by mistake…anyway.
The conclusion is that they will not do it, because there are tons of issues they do not bother to fix it in the game right now, and AI isn’t their priority. Players are migrated to PoE2 already.
The only AI that needs improvement is merc and minion AI, their stupidity leaves a lot of room for improvement. That being said its “game over” when it comes to changes in this old game, if anything just be happy they even bother resetting the ladder every few months. Still hoping they might some day move Cain back to his old spot in act 5 but at this point its probably easier to win the lottery
Simply changing an X,Y coordinate? Nope… Never gonna happen… Too complicated… Lost the original source code and all… They’d have to hire new dev and cryptoanalysis teams to crack that code… You’d have better luck with a fortune cookie revealing the location of Jimmy Hoffa.
